This + decent cooling pads like IETS or LLano turn my laptop maximum temp of 60 to 70C on stress test and idling from 30 to 40C. Browsing or playing games is round 40 to 60C. This works wonder. Even cooling pad itself improves the the temp but still reaching 90 on startup until I apply this thermal pad that my laptop stops throttling esp. while gaming.

Watching this to set up an windows gaming handheld. With boost set to agressive, the GPU can't perform at 100%. The CPU boost drains too much power and there is not much left for the GPU to work. Disabling this allows me to run heavier games with better FPS and light games at lower Wattage (more battery life) without losing performance.

That’s true, but I mean you get more out of a console so what’s the point of only getting 60 FPS at max setting and I’m only saying that because I recently built a computer and I’m running into that problem as well. I feel like I should have just stayed with console.

I have the same laptop, I'm about to upgrade to 2 TB NVMe storage and 32 GB DDR4 SODIMM RAM, also might get the battery replaced since its starting to get old but the reason I'm spending that money on upgrading rather than buying new was because I looked at ones in similar spec like 3050 or 4050 laptops and they cost as much as the money I had so I said no and bought the stuff, just waiting on them and then to send it off to a local tech shop to place the upgrades in for me and clone my NVMe Drive

I know you may want to keep it but don't upgrade that machine if you can get a new one for the same price. I purchased a 13700HX with 4060, 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB HD for 650 USD. You should be able to catch a sale since the 50 series will launch this year. Check out my HP Victus review to see how it performs. The 1650 is just barely enough if you are going to try and play demanding games. You should be ok with the games you have and some light indie games but you will run into trouble with the latest releases. I kept my 1650 for as long as possible but eventually I had to sell it.

Hi! I know I'm 7 years late to the party, but I recently got Prey for my Macbook Pro through Whisky. However, I'm having the problem where every texture aside from the window and the fish tank render as completely black? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, which didn't help. I messed around with the in-game settings, which did nothing. I tried validating the game's files through Steam-- nothing. You obviously don't have the same problem, but I was hoping to get some advice for how to get that fixed? Thanks!

are u sure u plugged it to a USB 3.2 gen 2 port ? it looks like it limited to USB 3.2 gen 1 ( same as USB 3 ) edit: looks like ALL the USB connection on the victus-16 are 5Gbps, that is why u where stuck at exactly 450MB/s on both read and write...

Don't use this for anything except storage. Running OS on it is a joke. You are buying one of the slowest drive for your OS? The regular Sata drive have more cache than this. You are ill and madness if you run OS on this drive. Depending on your system, anything more than 10GB can see the transfers speed dropped. You are saving money, but don't expect anything good. It's just an Okay drive. It's extremely light. I'm not sure if that is a positive or negative.

I would play in small sessions. The CPU did peak at some high temps. Make sure to check if your MacBook is one of the machines that had the GPU problem. There was a problem with them which caused artifacts to appear on screen. If you have one of those machines, I would not continue playing as the high temps could cause problems to arise.

I was expecting a bit higher of a frame rate in the village which is a big CPU tax. I guess 1440p in this game is a bit too intensive for the 3080 to really stretch its legs.

the game is crazy im running the same processor and a 4080 super on 1440p res and it gets like 20-30 more frames than this, i think the 3080 is doing very well here my guy
