Without dlss or frame gen , on a 5950x , 3080, 64gb ddr4 i get around 40 or 45 fps on epic preset at 1440p. Dlss on quality nets me almost 60. Add Fsr3 and its 100+ Its much smoother with fsr3 no doubt about it, i know they arent "real frames" but i cant deny how much better the game feels. Also im not going to sit here and tell you the game looks worse with DLSS in quality mode either vs native 1440p DLSS actually makes the game look so much better in quality mode vs straight 1440p . Color me impressed 😮

I agree the game is smoother with it on. AMD's inclusive approach to technology is refreshing and to see them support older GPUs with features like FSR and Frame Gen. This gives gamers a way to squeeze more performance out of their existing hardware. This approach not only extends the life of older cards but also makes gaming more accessible. I think NVIDIA’s decision to lock features like Frame Gen to the RTX 40 series feels restrictive. It’s disappointing when features that could likely work on older cards, even with reduced performance, are kept exclusive. It limits options for gamers who don’t upgrade every generation. Frame Gen itself is a nice option to have and while some gamers dislike it due to concerns about input lag or visual artifacts, it’s a fantastic option when it works as intended. If it lets you achieve smoother gameplay and boosts FPS without making the game unplayable, it’s absolutely worth enabling. The real truth is that devs need to get these things fixed before releasing their product.

@@Nebujin383 Also not me with my 3080 and 7800x3D. Medium-high preset with quality DLSS, getting 60-85 fps. Average 75 in the open, 60 in the cities. FSR FG is unusable due to extreme lag (regardless of reflex). Not really understanding what is the point of benchmarking with FG.

I have a 13700K and 4090, and not getting much better than you guys either. The 4090 almost never gets fully utilised since it's so CPU heavy.

that's where the biggest issues with this game start, lol. very uneven perfomance(unless you play on a 9800x3d i guess, my 5800x3d is having issues holding 60 fps), immersion-breaking respawns, glitched quests, and dumbest AI ever. But the worst are those enemy respawns. I was doing some quest in pripyat and one of the objective was "search the laundromat" the enemies wouldn't spawn untill i was like 10-20 meters away from the house, and there was many many more situations like this. And 90% of NPCs in pripyat are having exoskeleton for some reason. And thats just the tip of the spear. Unless you want to ruin your experience i would wait for patches / mods.

nevermind, I pulled the trigger and bought a 9800x3d platform. Basically, 20 FPS gain in Rostok bar :D

running a 7800x3d and 4080s, I can't use either frame generation option w/o unplayable levels of screen tearing. best settings I have found was frame gen off, upscaling on, and frame rate set to 60 with these settings the game is playable, but the latency is still awful.

Are you having issue when restarting the windows to don’t boot after? And solid amber light on mobo ?

I get an occasional hang when I restart. It doesn't happen all the time so I just got in a habit of just shutting down, then start it back up.

@ did you try enabling monitor software workaround in the bios ? I tried on mine rog strix x870 A and it seems to fix the issue

Ill look into it. Curious, do you have to use the armory crate software? I really don't like all the extra that it tries to install.

frame gen just adds frames to make the game smoother the 3080 isn't running those frames at 130 fps, with FG you are really running 75 to 80 FPS in stalker 2. not a real 130 fps so no the 3080 cant achieve 130 fps in the game. the game is held back by the cpu demands it has and the memory leak the game causes. Frame egn is not real frames its anly added frames to help smooth the picture quality out your card is only running 70 to 80 FPS even with frame gen on.

You can bro. I can confirm. I have an I5 12600k , RTx 3080, 32gb ram and I play at 4k with optimized settings on performance dlss, frame gen on. That doesn't mean it's perfect, inside towns the FPS drops to 100fps and stutters more. Outside you still gets stutters but the game can holds 120+FPS. On the sidenote, I use a popular sttutering fix on nexus mods.
