The only people who can use the feature are whales. The exchange should at least be like the pack point values. And it should let you trade cards for tokens even if you don't have it more than twice

Even beyond the frankly stupid currency and stamina system, the mere fact that the actual mechanics are so cumbersome just to trade in the FIRST place is simply awful. Seriously, imagine trying to trade real Pokemon cards, except in order to do so you need to: have at least 3 copies of the card you want to trade to someone, pay a fee to be able to trade anything decent, burn several MORE cards to raise funds for said fee, take a day long rest between trades (or pay money), and you can't even talk to the person you're trading with to, y'know, *actually coordinate what you're trading for.* Oh and you're forbidden from trading anything above a certain rarity. *That's TCG Pocket's system.* And it's asinine.

I say they scrap the tokens and just make trading free.

Absolutely the worst trading I've ever seen lmao.... I need a card... I have to hope someone randomly offers me that card, then offer one back. But I can not I offer a card, asking for the card i need.... how ridiculous. Just useless. You can offer up something, and get a trade back for something you absolutely don't need lmao. I wanted to use this ft to get cards I needed to build decks..... Its useless

The worst part is the fact you can't choose the card that you want. For example I want a Steel type because I'm a Steel type specialist but I can't choose the Steel type I want. I was hoping that they use the camera feature to add cards that I like

ALL they had to do was copy Online's trading but make the UI actually usable and have moderators remove impossible trades. That's literally all they had to do, but instead they went with an absolutely unhinged and asinine roundabout way that, frankly, has no benefits. There's literally only downsides with this system.

I really wish they would add a communication feature for trading, so players can tell each other what cards they want during a trade. I already have a friend trying to offer me EX cards I already have…and I feel bad rejecting him every time, but I don’t want to waste my tokens on cards I already have.

I can't believe you didn't mention that there is no in game way to know what your friend needs or vice versa. You're just guessing what they need, and they guess what you need.

Hey guys, the time you waste in this menu simulator is better invested in real games. Don’t feed into their greed and Pokemon brainwashing. The only purpose of this “game” is to annoy you so long that you will eventually pay more money than you want. It won’t get better !!!

My f2p strategy from the beginning was to reroll a bunch of times and then keep the accounts with the major cards I wanted. So after 30 rerolls, I got the immersive cards and kept 4 accounts for future pulling thrills. Yep. Best strategy ever. If I really want future immersive cards, then I’ll just reroll for more accounts. No need to fuss over the battle system since I’m only here for the immersive cards. Of course an even better strategy would be to download someone else’s recordings of the immersive cards since we don’t know when this company is going to shut down the servers.

To all the crybabies in the comment section: The trading system is not supposed to be abused. Making it more lenient will not only make the rare cards easy to get thus damaging their prestige, but also affect the f2p players the most as people will be able to "buy" trades

Sucks you cant use 1 or 2 rarity cards to get tokens. Only 3 and above

i have 1.7k+ cards, have been playing for months, and only have a handful of dupes of higher rarity cards. those dupes are the cards i want to trade, but instead i would need to burn them for the possibility of making 1 trade in the future. there is no way any new players are going to be able to trade anything until theyve played for a long time and amassed a big collection. i honestly encourage everyone to 1 star the game until tokens become less expensive because they might make a change if the games rating goes down

Trading sucks a lot

The trade mechanic in its current form is completely and utterly broken. Trade tokens are likely a necessary evil that have been put in place in order to keep the economy in check given that there's people running 10+ accounts on emulators out there taking advantage of the huge influx of cards each new account gets, but there are plenty of ways to make the trade mechanic useful and put in healthy limits without making it a near useless gimmick for legitimate players. For reference I'm a game developer that has worked on CCGs too, we shipped a CCG on mobile back in 2014 - Star Admiral was the name - we never took off but had lengthy discussions about how to add trading to the game and still give players incentives to buy packs. We were truly F2P and didn't have a subscription model so they have that to juggle too but there's plenty of ways to keep trading useful and still make popping packs something people want to do: 1. make it so accounts can only trade after reaching N cards in their Pokedex, also makes popping that 28th Wooloo not feel so baaaaah'd 2. add a top 3 system, a bit like ye' ol' MySpace, where your top 3 friends can be traded with for a fraction of the token cost, but you can only update them once every 3 months 3. put a hard cap on the number of trading tokens an account can hold (i.e. 500) but make it so every versus battle you win gets you 100 tokens and every lost battle gets you 50 if you play the game out All of these approaches would both encourage time spent actually playing the game, time spent trading instead of hoarding trade tokens, and raise the barrier of entry for automated/inauthentic accounts without giving authentic players a giant middle Mankey finger. C'mon Nintendo, you've made enough money no?

why couldnt they just add a higher trade currency for high end trades? 1 diamond be free, 2 diamonds 1, 3 diamonds 2, and finally gold be 3 trade currency. with it being the normal 2 per day, it would at least make it usefull for trading. but nop, they need to add a shitty currency nobody uses.

I have the premium pass, & still have only 1 copy of so many cards, 25 tokens for exchange of a regular holo that you need 3 of??? Everything about this is so bad

Its implementation also makes it that, if you don’t want to waste your time or 1 trade slot, trades need to be discussed offline which is a whole different can of worms.

lol i just checked it out myself, best they gave us nothing cuz this is complete ass. I'd rather they just give us a feature to scrap duplicates for pack tickets which would functionally be the same but at least we could accumalate something of value overtime. Oh and notice that u cant even convert cards that u don't have more than 2 copies of and if that translates to trading then what's the point....shit is TRASH

It's bad for multiple reasons... Makes shine dust irrelevant, and you're punished if you've actually turned in cards for flairs. Why is the wishlist not used here? How am I supposed to know what to offer people that I can't communicate with? It would make so much more sense if I could propose a card that I want, and my friends give me offers for it. This is an awful system that just doesn't work from within the app itself

Game's making 100-200 mil/month and this is the shit they come up with, embarrassing. The reason shinedust is showing up is probably because they initially wanted it to be shinedust, but greed won and they made a new whole currency instead. I'm willing to bet the original plan was stamina + shinedust.

This system is just put in place so that people can't say "there's no trading feature" but at the same time to prevent people from trading so that they don't lose money. Nintendo/Pokemon company scumbags as always.

I think that, the point in this system, since we can't buy tokens in store (yet), is to force people to get rid of all the extra rare cards they got in wonder pick exploit.

Yes this whole system is horse sh** You should NOT have to destroy cards at all in any instance or reason. Complete crap, not going to use it and still won t buy gold. I have billions of dust I don t want and I am not interested in Flair whatsoever again because it requires destroying cards

This feature is absolutely horrendous. They need to seriously change it and remove tokens. So lame.
