We have the same boat with a 0520 not nearly as powerful as that boat. I’ve never even seen a gear reduction on a aircraft engine. Is this a newer thing people are doing now

Love my aead 200 legend. The heck with newer sets that don't have the ability to put out 8kv without having to run at full speed. Running the house during power outages at 1800 RPM while sipping fuel is where it's at. ❤️ My ONAN Miller Legend 👍

@@chrisisboss9620 I built a 16ft hovercraft and I used a belt reduction on the back of a Subaru 4 cyl engine. A gearbox would have been great for that!! I'm getting the itch to build one of these but I live in Michigan and you don't see many up here.

Jim Jakosh Well for these car motor boats you can just direct drive it instead of a gear box and you won’t have to spend all the money on the gear box but the gearbox does help and is better it’s just the cheaper route

Real nice machine. I flew a hovercraft for 10 years and this seems like it would be a whole lot less maintenance. How do you stop it if you have to quick? On the hover i just dropped the lift power...Cheers, Jim...you've got me interested in one of these!

How do ya know that 454 is tired. Do you see gauges(oil pressure), here any ticks, knocks, smoke, misses ????? Those Gen- motors run like scalded dogs forever if ya use your brain. We had a 454/330 built all up to 450hp. in our '97 22 ft. Scarab with a 23" mirage plus 3 blade stainless prop and that boat ran 80mph. all damn day on glass lake water !! I'd buy that boat ---strickly by the sound and performance !!! I'm looking as we speak for another '95-'98 mint Scarab and am willing to pay 25K for a like new one, I sold our's in 2001 for 30K.

@@anotherpewtertahoe Levi---It included: Hi-rise up and over stainless headers, aluminum intake, bigger Holly fuel injection set-up, a BBC hotter magnum marine cam, and sent the CDI box out to California to get re-booted. Should of been at LEAST 450 hp. kicked ass on alot of twin engine boats on our lake , sounded absolutely magnificent !!!!!!!! Thx. Jim
