thanks for your video, it gives tons of hints to think over. I think social media will keep evolving. they were born to give additional communication means, to create communities which wouldn't otherwise raise, and so on. there is a lot of potential in there. we were unaware of the risks of use and overuse and abuse, and we all ended up used by market. we became the product. our data got sold, we got profiled, and we became unaware victims of the market. I think this was the childish phase of doing things for the gram. now, little by little, we are growing, getting more mature both as individuals and as entities: regulations are being drafted to protect the users and to rule the terms and conditions of every social media in a way that is considered legal and fair. I hope things will go on this way: more awareness, more potential, more "good" and less "bad". KZbin itself changed a lot over the years, and today made me bump into you and I am happy of this, because it is really matching my profile with content that I recognise as meaningful. long ago there was nothing life this: the research would have been on me only and the algorithm would have shown only the ones paying the most. now I feel we are going towards a sort of win-win situation: my profile data is used in a fair way. maybe this is the case of KZbin only and who knows if this would be the only successful way and all the others will fail. let's see. maybe IG and TikTok will become "worse" and grow that way, showing teenagers who gain success selling pics of their naked bodies.. who knows. I hope not. I hope in the future all the social media will evolve not just considering money as the only driver, but also giving importance to ethics, pushing people to improve, getting more cultured, and so on. your move of turning off the other social media was probably a great move for the conditions they are now in, but I hope in the future they will evolve in a way that you and many like you will feel it is worth to be part of them. that will be the successful social media future I hope for.

I am from the Midwest as well. Just found you from your living in CR video. I’ve always heard that Italy and Europe in general has way better food then we do in the US. That the grain is good for you and vegetables grown without genetic modification and more organic and they have strict laws on processed/dyed foods? Being from the Midwest I’ve heard so many times Italy’s wheat is non GMO as well. Lol I was hoping that was true because I have stated it as fact to way too many people ha!

Many people like to talk about wheat because of gluten as well as GMO. I don't notice so much of a difference in wheat, but with corn. I was allergic to corn in the US but not in Europe (CZ + IT)

If you're looking for easy returns in Italy,it's better to opt for amazon. As for other places,it's depends but in general it's not such a pleasant experience when they will probably refuse or say smth like you can't have your money back but just take something else instead of the thing you want to return

I only have IG, but I agree with you that most of what I consume is unoriginal content, or creators are asking their followers what they want to see which, in a way, passes off the work to the consumer. Where I do still find value in IG is following people who are true experts in their field (nutrition for PCOS, balancing glucose levels, that type of stuff where it can be overwhelming to comb through ALLLL the research yourself). I do agree that simply delete the app from your phone is not enough.

I'm curious what motivated you to settle long term in places like Czech Republic, Italy, etc? Vs. continuing to visit new places, spend a few months, etc. What I'm struggling with at the moment is deciding on where to settle, vs. continuing to live in new places for a 4 months, 6 months, and just continue doing that.

To be honest I was a bit lazy about leaving the Czech Republic. I changed cities there a few times but in general I enjoyed my daily life there. I moved to Italy because my boyfriend’s family is here so we came back to be closer to them. Despite having moved across the ocean to live and work I have no strong desires to travel and be more nomadic. I’m in a long term search for a place I don’t feel the need to escape from.

I find the selection of foods in USA groceries overwhelming and stressful. Why so many kinds of everything? Most of it is overprocessed and hence cr*p quality anyways (unless you go to specialized isles of Whole Foods, etc). I like grocery shopping in Europe much more. But we are all different...

Yeah, I don’t get why gym memberships are so expensive in Prague. And the person saying Prague libraries have English sections don’t understand how extensive American libraries are.

Yes and I don't expect my small town library to have many foreign language books. It's more about the ability to rent books instead of relying on buying them or digital versions that I miss.

Interesting points! diversity and gyms are somewhat understandable, while library was most unexpected for me :) However regarding health industry, i suppose if we consider distances in US and prices in US, then i was under the impression that similar service are available in Europe too, we just do not use them much as they are just expensive coz they are private clinics and far away, but both those characteristics should be quite similar as in US when i would live in smaller town not big city. Do i miss something? Good luck in Italy!

On the diversity, I have completely different opinion. Especially the part about "opinions". Healthcare, that is a long discussion in every country. But the first four, me too! The libraries bit, I just do not follow. You would never complain about not having a czech language library in New York, that is insane. Checking out books is normal. Prague libraries have extensive english departments. To sum it up, most of all, you miss your family,? :) I am looking forward cz/ita comparison. Cheers.

Read this if you want the science: The idea that you should wash your hair extremely infrequently is a very widespread salon myth. You can go to any salon in the world and they will probably tell you this, but when you actually look at the tests and studies that have been done there is nothing to back this up. And actually most of them show the opposite; participants hair and scalp are HEALTHIER after frequent washing. The hair that you see is DEAD. There is no living thing inside of them that can "signal" to your roots to produce more oil. This method words for her, but be very carful not shampooing your hair especially if you have dandruff or psoriasis. There are a lot of scalp conditions that are bacterial that make your scalp FEEL dry, but if you just shampoo them more it will fix the problem. The "No-Poo" movement only works for a very small percent of the population. And finally, about shampoos being "unnatural" or containing too many "chemicals", most shampoos on the market in 2024 use coconut based surfactants and only clarifying shampoos use the dreaded "sulfates". But even still, there is nothing harmful about sulfates. If used at higher percentages they can be drying, but that is a GOOD THING for some scalp conditions, and easily avoidable if you don't have these. And just a heads up too - Soapwort cleans your hair because it is a saponin. Saponins are derived from plants and have been used for thousands of years. You know what else is a saponin? Cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine, Lauryl hydroxysultaine, Sodium cocoamphoacetate, Sodium lauroamphoacetate, and Coco caprylate - all of these are from coconuts and also the most common ingredients in shampoo. Here is the chemical composition of a banana, in case you are ever worried about something having too many "chemicals" : AN ALL-NATURAL BANANA INGREDIENTS: WATER (75%), SUGARS (12%) (GLUCOSE (48%), FRUCTOSE (40%), SUCROSE (2%), MALTOSE (<1%)), STARCH (5%), FIBRE E460 (3%), AMINO ACIDS (<1%) (GLUTAMIC ACID (19%), ASPARTIC ACID (16%), HISTIDINE (11%), LEUCINE (7%), LYSINE (5%), PHENYLALANINE (4%), ARGININE (4%), VALINE (4%), ALANINE (4%), SERINE (4%), GLYCINE (3%), THREONINE (3%), ISOLEUCINE (3%), PROLINE (3%), TRYPTOPHAN (1%), CYSTINE (1%), TYROSINE (1%), METHIONINE (1%)), FATTY ACIDS (1%) (PALMITIC ACID (30%), OMEGA-6 FATTY ACID: LINOLEIC ACID (14%), OMEGA-3 FATTY ACID: LINOLENIC ACID (8%), OLEIC ACID (7%), PALMITOLEIC ACID (3%), STEARIC ACID (2%), LAURIC ACID (1%), MYRISTIC ACID (1%), CAPRIC ACID (<1%)), ASH (<1%), PHYTOSTEROLS, E515, ÖXÁLIC ACID, E300, E306 (TOCOPHEROL), PHYLLOQUINONE, THIAMIN, COLOURS (YELLOW-ORANGE E101 (RIBOFLAVIN), YELLOW-BROWN E160a), FLAVOURS (3-METHYLBUT-1-YL ETHANOATE, 2-METHYLBUTYL ETHANOATE, 2-METHYLPROPAN-1-OL, 3-METHYLBUTYL-1-OL, 2- HYDROXY-3-METHYLETHYL BUTANOATE, 3-METHYLBUTANAL, ETHYL HEXANOATE, ETHYL BUTANOATE, PENTYL ACETATE), 1510, NATURAL RIPENING AGENT (ETHENE GAS).

Hi, Ariel. Your video about your time back and forth from Ohio, the CZ.republic is interesting and fascinating. You are very bright, strong willed. Two excellent qualities I find very admirable. That said I am third generation here in the USA from Poland. We share a love for the Slavic race and culture. Of course according to your time line in this video it has been nearly 9 years since you left Ohio. A lot has changed in the eastern European world, particularly in Ukraine and border countries. That said, I do wish you all the best. I hope you’ll be able to create new videos in the future, and thank you very much for your candor and presentation, you score very high marks in both. Ted
