What about the sound contribution from the OR15 power stage? To complex, plug in and play...

Badlander is the Rectoverb, minus the spring reverb pan. rRecto's Reverb is tube driven as well. You pay more for less with the Badlander.

I'm older now .. I've been through my Triple Rec days (my 20's) & now I really just love the smaller wattage amps & the Rectoverb 25 is my go to! I use it live in small clubs & it cuts right through everything else on stage! Amazing little head & mini cabs!

I have The PS 5 and it’s glitchy on the octave settings but in the harmony settings the octave’s are smoother. In the whammy up or down there’s a latency issue. Do you notice these problems with the PS 6? Thanks for sharing ideas with the PS 6.

Thanks! I've been running mine into a MOOER BabyBomb pedal and into my Mesa 1x12 cab. It's hard to mix the Blonde part of the FlyRig and the Plexi/Cali together, but it seems if you have the Gain on both not too high, it sounds good, otherwise it gets really bassy. Are you using the FX loop at all? Thoughts?
@AlexMessanoMusic9 күн бұрын
Yes I agree....but I find it can cover most genres without having to run the gain past 1 o'clock or so. I've never used the FX loop of the unit that much. If I want to use a volume boost or delay, I usually just run it after the entire pedal itself.
@sbrave9 күн бұрын
@@AlexMessanoMusic I agree on the gain setting, plenty to go heavy. I think I'm gonna ditch my MX5. This thing has everything I need in a much smaller size. I don't need 20 different amps, and tho I thought about keeping it for fx, there are other options that are smaller and can run into the fx loop on the FlyRig

Thanks for this comparison. Nice to hear some tones from these amps beyond the typical thrash riffs. Clearly both are great amps, but interestingly enough I came to the exact opposite conclusion-I liked the slightly darker, saggier gain sound from the RV because it reminds of classic grunge/alt metal tones like Soundgarden and Tool, whereas the Badlander tended to stay cleaner when pushed. However, I preferred the bright jangly cleans from the Badlander, which has come closest to my ear of any amp I've heard to reproducing the Roland JC clean sound. Well, it's all a matter of taste. I think the Badlander seems like the better investment given the integrated load/IR functionality.

Hey Alex! I must to say you’ve got some really sweet tones out of this little orangey guy :) I bought the OR15 too, and I really struggle at the time to get smooth tones like you’ve got. I’ve paired it with a 1x12 cab with Vintage 30, so maybe the speaker selection isn’t so good. What’s your cabinet and speaker/s are you using? Maybe that’s the magic, or something else?

Here's ny thing with the Rectoverb: If you put a good quality EQ in the loop, you can get that extra high end that the Badlander has. However, i think the Badlander has a faster attack and isnt a loose as the Rectoverb. I say these things as a Recto25 and MkV25 owner.

Which one you like better out of both, and can you describe each of their feels? Especially the mid contents?
@AlexMessanoMusic9 ай бұрын
Honestly, it's hard for me to hear a major difference between the two of them. I like the Friedman BE-OD a little more because it has more tonal options, like a Presence control, and an internal gain pot that allows you to trim down the amount of gain overall to get a more vintage sound. The Plexitone is if you just want to plug in and get that VH sound without thinking about it. It delivers on that aspect right away!
