Plenty loud....punchiness varies depending on what cab you're using. This amp has a looser, vintage feel as opposed to something fast and immediate like a boosted Rectifier.

I love Mesa, I just bought my second head, should get any day. This is missing something. I think a compressor pedal would pull things together. It seems to do the job with the heads I own.I love the Way Huge-Saffron Squeeze, there are many great compressors out there.

Definitely...keep the gain knob at about 11 o'clock, run the master a little higher and you have a great unbroken clean tone. The Fillmore 100 would be able to get you even more headroom, but the 50 can do it as well : )

Hello,tried the combo version and got out of the store with a mkv 25 head.It seem to lack a clear Mesa thump. 👉🏻my problem now is about a mk4b head and 212 cab like new.Never got out of the house.I would sell it to buy a mkv 90w but my heart seems broken just thinking about it..😁😁.The kit sounds like heaven.Very very hard to part with. 👉🏻I was not able to get the nice tones you got with the combo.Thx for posting.Have a good life.

Love the mkv 25! It is definitely designed to give you more of that classic thump, especially with the graphic EQ. On a side note, I find that in general, head and cabs sound fuller than combos. Pairing a head with a great speaker cab can really open a whole world of sonic possibilities, and cause the amp to give you more than you would expect.
