I know this is an ancient video, but I did have a question. Can I use the camcorder as a recording deck to transfer VHS videos into the camcorder via the USB cable, or is the USB cable output only like the mini HDMI port is?

Did anybody write a 12-bit gaming console on an FPGA? It would be the perfect system. 8-bit is too little, 16 bit is too much. Would be really cool in many aspects: - 12 bit graphics: 4R+4G+4B bit RGB is probably the sweet spot with 4096 colours. - 12 bit integers: 0-255 or -128-127 is often too small, you can't deal with screen coordinates in that. -2048 to 2047 on the other hand is just perfect. It will allow very efficient coding. - 12 bit ASCII, 4096 characters is great. UTF-8 is too complex, where classic ASCII is just too restricted. You could even opt for a 6+6 system. 64 characters at the basis, with dual half-word for the extended set. - 12 channel 12x12bit wavetable synthesis. The best sounding chiptunes at your fingertips - 12 bit bus and 24 bit addressing: 25 megabytes of storage is an awesome amount for sprite-based games

The issue seems to be that people pay to use a company's software to produce an art product (song/movie/etc) with the intent to own the art product outright and do with the art product as they please. The EULA seems to take the rights of the art producer by dictating/licensing what you can and cannot do with the art product you make. Some EULA's also give the software company a right to sell and distribute the work that the artist produces with no compensation to, or consideration from, the art producer. My question is: "Is there a software company (music/video/animation) that gives the producer of the art full rights and does not put the maker of the product into a position of someone who needs a license to use what they made?" And if not, "What software companies offer the most rights to the producer of the art?"

The reason people don’t use them is because they don’t work. A lock does no more than keep an honest man, honest. You more likely to see these on docks. 200 or 300 dock, whereas as people take their laptops with them. You can get portable cable cutters small enough, so why risk it. ( Later on the lock can be cut flush) Not really slowing a thief down. Now locking the dock; most thief’s won’t put the effort in it. No guarantees they know what it is, anyway.

I have the Quietcomfort 45's and after watching a video just figured it was the top plastic switch. I took it apart and discovered that the actual black plastic piece that the switch goes over had broken off. It's not like I'm overly rough when turning these on or off so very disappointed.

So if you have four cameras that's four hundred dollars a year. Want to fix income of seven hundred dothers after they take your insurance and taxes out. Doesn't make sense. My sister need to send them back.

Hello .. help me here. An old person begging 🙏 .., Same type of thing for me but mine are only 10 months old AND it was a slightly different switch issue. BUT Where do I mail it? How do you find this stuff out? There were no written instructions when I bought it. Do you have to call them first? It seems so old fashion to mail something back and wait until they “fix” it and the mail it back to you. It seems like an impossibility in this day and age.

you can buy a pc cheaper and use it as NAS. Any version of windows would do it.

Hi - This didn't work. I'm on deadline to get this video submitted for an audition. First time ever to use this camcorder. Once plugged in and button depressed, computer didn't recognize the camcorder I appreciate your trying to help and see that many others got helped by your video, My camcorder is a second try from Canon that junked my last camcorder. It may be an issue with this one. I certainly would appreciate any further advice you have, if you happen to have time to respond this Labor Day weekend?

I am over Canon and their stupid proprietary software. I tried this, did not work for me. I can drag the file over as a mts file, used VLC media to convert to mp4 and it was all messed up. The videos play fine on the camera. I will never buy a Canon product again with their stupid always wanna spy on you software

Wow...I was surprised by your experience with the built-in subwoofer. I have to set my bass at -3 or the subwoofer frequency is overpowering. However, I'm built differently. At one time the house I was living in was terrible for anything wireless. After using Linksys HPNA 10 Mbs phoneline adapters for several years, I eventually ended up going with MOCA adapters. I bought one of these extenders, for less than $13 off eBay. With a ECB2500 by the router, and this in the back of the house I got a solid connection of over 90 Mbs and excellent WIFI coverage in that part of the house. I then purchased another one for les than $15 and further extended coverage to the other end of the house. I had a 100 Mbs internet connection at the time, so the 100 Mbs limitation of the adapters wasn't an issue for me.
