You got your influences reversed. The Honda Hurricane did not influence the Paso. The Paso series was designed by Massimo Tamborini, one of the founders of Bimota before leaving to design Ducatis. He designed the FULLY ENCLOSED Bimota DB1 in the early 80's before he designed the 750 Paso, both of which PREDATE the Honda Hurricane. He also designed the Ducati Supersport and Superbike 850/888 before going on to design the most influential bike ever, the Ducati 916. Tamborini was the master and didn't need Honda's ideas to come up with greatness.

I have an RS but really curious about the S models, hope one day I can try one of these and compare especially because they share the same engine but with different configurations. Thanks for the review!

I'm glad he didn't show us any of the things he was describing; there is really no need to show your viewers the features and design aspects of a bike that you find cool, unique, and quirky. No, lets just walk around the bike for 12 minutes and talk about it with as minimal detail as possible.

It’s probably the (even) better bike when compared to the 1100S but it doesn’t look as good. The only improvement in that respect is that the fairing is less tubby.

The 308 is actually the predecessor of the Dino 246. The 308 was not the first in this style.

The Magnum car you referenced was a 1979-1984 years. As well as Fierro's made up to look like the 308GTS for most of the heavy stunt work as well as demolishing of it so as to save on costs of the real deal. There is a lot of fun facts like that for you, if you were truly interested. And enthusiasts, certainly can help you with the real world facts about your car. As evidenced already in the comment sections. I have, like countless others, always appreciated this design. But some love affairs are to be enjoyed from a far. lol

A lot of the weight loss they achieved was from taking a solid, well built bike and turning it into a tinker toy. I'll have none of it.

Apparently in 2007, this bike lost it's graceful lines. This thing is flat out ugly. Give me an 1100 over a 1200 and keep the extra 100cc.

I had a 2001 in red. Great bike and excellent Rotax engine. Coils go bad and very expensive to replace. Stators also go bad after a while but inexpensive

I bought one of these bikes on a whim because I thought it looked cool and was called "Futura" (I own a Delorean). I absolutely love this bike!! It is so fun, so unique, so cool. I have owned over 20 motorcycles and I think this may be my favorite to actually ride.

i'm 6'4", and i rode a 907 from a friend once.. it fits!.. nice bike, handles great, love the torque..just a perfect bike until the ST models came out, though these are more touring bikes.. i have an 851 and a 750 sport (1990) with the same 16" wheels as the Paso 750, 16" wheels feel different at the start, but once you get used to them... these are great bikes as well..

@MotoMeccaGarage, I would disagree with the point you made about riding at high speeds. All Monsters prior to 2008 came stock with a quarter faring (which IMO is functional and beautifully integrated). I notice you don't have one on your bike. When installed, it's a game changer when doing triple digits speeds. It's actually one of the negatives of the later model Monsters (too tiny) and Streetfighters... and actually one of the main considerations why I am not serious about purchasing those types and makes of naked bikes (KTM, BMW, Kawasaki, etc.).

I had a Ducati Paso 906. Really surprised, that nobody mentions the difficult handling at low speeds in the city. With the smaller front wheel, it tends to drop into the curve. Friends who tried it gave it back after one block, happy they did not fall over. Very unstable at low speeds, but when you understand the bike, you can make 360º with the handle stuck to the tank. Indeed great torque even at low speeds. Once launched, it is very easy to ride and steers to the mm precise. Lovely bike. I had to laugh when you said it is like riding a panther. Exactly !
@JJLalas Жыл бұрын
Great video. I own a 906, a truly exhilarating raw machine. I do believe Paso precedes the Hurricane. It was unveiled on November 1985 Milan show. And style wise it derives actually from the Bimota DB1, also from Massimo Tamburini

It's air/oil cooled, as were the previous R1100-S, and the trellis frame is a subframe just for the rear frame section. I know what you mean by it feeling like new with a lot of miles. My first BMW R-1150-RS had 130,000 km on it when I sold it, and ran like it recently came from the showroom. I saw one with 250,000 km on it that only recently had the valves freshened up, and everything else was stone reliable. I have a 'new' 2002 R-1150-RS that only has 40,000-km on it, and I will be worn out long before it is...
