I just orered the K2 and the Swing sequencer. I’m guessing I won’t need an attenuator between them for CV. My Behringer MonoPoly goes bezerk on a MIDI seqence direct from my DAW via MIDI or USB, but sequences normally with my M-Audio O2 in between (USB to the DAW and MIDI cable to the MonoPoly). In this regard, would my O2 be acting as an attenuator?
@amazeus198011 күн бұрын
Thx for your question. I'm glad to help. Attenuator is not really what you think it is, from what you describe. First of all attenuator modules do not need power supply (not all but most) and these modules are very cheap and MUST HAVE, really worth having. What is attenuator module? You can use it for dialing in amount of modulation (usually used with LFO but you can be creative as well). You do not use Attenuator between MIDI keyboard and a synth but you can, it will affect distribution of pitch CV across the keyboard but in that case it is not a must have. I hope it helps...if you have any more questions just ask! Regarding K2, be carefull because K2 has 2 different CV standards. read the manual carefully, have a good look on a K2 as well. I have some videos here showing what connections are possible (Crave with K2). But generally you can use MIDI for playing K2 and if you feel more comftable with CVs then you can use CVs for controlling keyboard...but MIDI works perfectly good for that purpose and you can use CVs for other purposes like modulating filter for example (again for best results modulate through an attenuator).

There is nothing wrong with Behringer’s build quality. Especially if we talk about more expensive equipment. I myself I was sceptical at the beginning but as soon as I got my Behringer D I have decided that I will take Blue Marvin as well…Behringer became my favourite synth maker. Also because Behringer has VERY cool modifications! If we talk about the sound, those who don’t know how to make any synth sound good are mourning and spiting and trolling 😂😂😂
@user-lj4do4de7cАй бұрын
If Roland was smart they would do some sort of license deal instead of going against what everyone wants. If aren’t gonna build analog replica synths themselves let Behringer build FAITHFUL repros with their name attached. Without adding to the price tag. It’s not like Behringer isn’t going to build them anyways.
@amazeus1980Ай бұрын
Legendary synth makers have made a mistake …by keeping prices very high in times of cheap labour and parts. Behringer took advantage of the huge gap in the market and nothing wrong with that. Patenting and licensing that equipment would lead to lack of innovation and Behringer adds must have features while others didn’t improve at all.
