I ordered one of these on July 15th 2023, still isn't near my home i live in Michigan and it's coming from Texas! WTF??? I'm in the process of trying to cancel my order but they aren't answering my emails. May not happen to you but be prepared for a long wait possibly..

I would go on their FAQs section of their website. I believe the van line they use is Estes and they leave it at the shipping warehouse until they have a load going to your area. Luckily I live in San Francisco Bay Area so mine got shipped out Farley quick. I think mine was a lil over 2 weeks from the day I placed my order. That being said it was gonna be a few more days to get to pick up location in my town so I spoke with Estes and picked it up at their big warehouse about 30 miles away otherwise I feel like I would have waited an extra week. Hope this helps

That was my 1st boat, in Blue lagoon color. A 2020' Tempest 120P I had the bow hatch, open to the side with full hull access, and the blade rudder. And my crate would sit on the storage hatch and be un-even. So I made a mod for that. But I loved the boat, and learned where to set everything up. Run my electronics, landing gear, and I ran my J2 Bixpy motor on the rudder. It's an awesome kayak, for fun fishing and tournaments. Now I have my 2023 Hoodoo impulse 120, fin drive, in the radiant Citrus. She's almost ready for the season. I sold my original j2 Bixpy to my buddy. Now I have the new PP 768 J2 Bixpy, with the vibe Gravity rudder. You'll love enjoy that kayak. It's fast, stable, plenty of storage, and room in the cockpit. You can add anything. Any motor, and I've seen the tempest with all of them. And they make there own that replaces the PDL Drive. And there's a lot of different motors out there. And Hoodoo gives you everything you need to just get started. I love having all those scupper holes, and plugs, and the seat is comfortable. Good luck. 🌊 🎣 😎

I’m at work and don’t have it in front of me but if I remember correctly it only goes over the front where the tackle trays are exposed. The rest of the backpack with zippered pockets do not get covered. However what I did is got some scotch guard or another brand of aerosol spray water repellent and treated all the exposed area’s of fabric. Worked great hope this helps. I love this backpack one of my top 3 buys last year.

The beautiful thing about today's sit on top fishing kayaks. They've become a one man boat. And everyone is going motorized. I love the Hoodoo because, all they give you. I have my 2022 Hoodoo impulse 120, and I run a Newport vessel nk-180s, mounted to my stern, with it being motor ready. My 1st kayak was the 2021 Tempest 120p, and I mounted my J2 BIXPY to the Vibe Gravity rudder, and purchased the trolling motor Hoodoo makes, right where your pedals go. It's a factory 46lb thrust motor. And it's the same price as the old drive. The tempest with any motor really moves in open water. I loved the Tempest, but i wanted my fin drive, and motor, so I can cover water, and then use the fins around my spots. Plus have an open deck, with the fins out. But you'll love that setup, especially with that motor. But I would research trimming your shaft to 24 inches. Many bow mount trolling motors i've seen, you can have it done, by a professional, or do it yourself. Plenty of you tube vids on that. So it'll fit perfectly on your bow, and drop in the water, and not sit so deep. It'll probably be faster sitting higher, to the water surface. Good luck with the build bro. 😎 🎣

I got the exact same kayak a few months ago. For the most part, it's been a good kayak but that "upgraded" rudder man... I've had NOTHING but problems with it. First of all, the line that they ran along the side of the kayak (the one with the red plastic ball on the end) that you pull to raise the rudder out of the water, you get almost zero leverage when trying to pull it. I ended up taking that whole line out and shortening it to just a couple inches putting a clip on it and locking the rudder to itself to keep it up. Second, the mechanism used to hold that line in place was razor sharp and kept fraying the line. Third... oh my God this kayak can't turn worth crap and the rudder keeps jamming on me. That plastic tubing that they used as a guide where the rudder lines come out at the back keeps slipping out of the holes and causing the rudder controls to bind up. The oar has become my best friend and half the time is the only way I can control my direction. That Rudder is so unreliable... and dangerous too. I was in a situation where I needed to move quickly to get out of the way of a boat and all I did was run circles because of that Rudder jamming.

I just received my "Molten Lava version this week! My steering is backwards for me, so I will fix that. I did have to put 3 washers on each bracket screw to make them latch. The main problem I see is that the drive doesn't go down all the way for the latch to work and the prop barely clears the hull. They didn't give enough washers, but I plan to make some shims. Overall, with all the research that I did, I think I made the right choice! I hope to make my maidan voyage this weekend!
