I think the swiveling of the A-Axis in your case is post processor related and can be turned of by editing it. I've got a similar case on my DMU75, but with a different CAM system. Have you tried a slitting saw on the VF? You could chamfer it afterwards. I use them with great success. Mine are manufactured by Horn, though.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the slitting saw is a great idea. I even have one. I will try to add that to the program for future use. Yes, I figured it was in the post processor. Just haven’t figured out how to get in and edit the post processor.

Outstanding. I would like to throw an idea out here. I believe it would be a great add on to utilize a threaded ball coupling so our turn mill CNC's can use the draw bar. The main goal is to utilize Royal Products chucks. With having the draw bar feature for auto clamping, spindle bore liners and royal products chucks, we can custom order collets that match barrel profiles. Increase bed capacity

Heck Ya!!! That should allow some more spindle speed for the HAAS TL Lathe’s great features.

Great design improvements. The weight was always a concern of mine with an M300 Harrison. Will it still work with the US made Buck Chucks? I'll have to order one this year hopefully.
@nathanmagman
@nathanmagman 2 ай бұрын
The Buck chuck does not work with the system due to that outside diameter of the chuck body is too large to fit between the radial adjustment screws. TMX is now made in the USA.

Question : I want a 18" silhouette for 100 yards and beyond and am wundering if a 1/4 AR500 plate would be sufficient ? My application would be 7.62x39... I know 3/8 thickness is offers better longevity and potentially safety because of less pitting, but 1/4 versus 3/8 inch is about 2/3 lighter... Which is desirable because I'll be hand lugging them out to the range... Would 1/4 inch offer any longevity to the 7.62x39 at the distance of 100 or 200 yards, or is it a complete waste of money ? I appreciate your time spent in responding, thanks

I chose a 1/2 inch. I didn’t want any issue if I ever wanted to go higher in caliber and I didn’t want pitting with my .223/.556. I’d personally say 1/4 is good for pistols. How did it work out for you?

Dorian tool made this one. I believe they discontinued them, double check though. I build one similar specifically for rifle building as it has a built-in adjustable reamer holder on one end. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHiTgIBmq6yib5I

We do you tighten the 3 bolts that hold the TBAS to the spindle adapter? Don't those need to be backed off some when you use your 4 centering bolts (fine adjustments)?

Awesome part! At 1:20 in the video, I think we're watching both the main spindle as well as the tool holder spin, is that correct? If so, what kind of toolholder can be "live" in the TL1?
@nathanmagman
@nathanmagman 4 жыл бұрын
It is a rotary broach driven by the main spindle. This is what cuts the hex Drive in the end of the bolt.

So .00015" over 4", what is that in MOA? I guess we would we take half the TIR over four inches and get 0.064 MOA? How is this close enough? If you were aiming a laser at a target on the moon, you would miss by over 4.8 miles. Still think it's "close enough?!" Now get back there and chase that 0.000075 inches!
