@@martinkasper197 Those are indeed also "U"s! Although your examples use a different sound to the sound I'm focusing on in the video. In the video, I'm pronouncing the short /ʌ/, and your examples would be written as a long /uː/ 🤗

@@englishwithdaniella Vielen Dank!!! Das ist so nett
We all know this problem! 🥴 So, in order to transfer vocabulary from your passive to your active vocabulary, you need to use the words IN CONTEXT. That's how our brains learn best! 1. SPEAK OR WRITE WITH NEW WORDS 🗣️📝 Create sentences, write a short story, or record yourself talking about a topic where the word fits. 2. USE SPACED REPETITION ⏳ Practice recalling the words after increasing intervals of time. 3. ENGAGE IN CONVERSATION 👥 Intentionally use the new words when speaking or chatting with others. The more you actively use a word, the more natural it becomes in your active vocabulary! ✨

Hab bis zur Abmoderation gar nicht mitbekommen, dass Du gar keine Deutsche bist. Du hattest es zwar am Anfang gesagt, aber ich dachte irgendwie, ich hätte was falsch verstanden, da Dein Deutsch perfekt ist. Respekt, man merkt Dir zu 0% an, dass Deutsch nicht deine Muttersprache ist.

Are these not Apostrophes rather than Commas?
@mr.gamer21352 ай бұрын
No, an apostrophe (‘) is used to form possessives like: “This is Johnny’s coat” And is also used for contractions, (to show that letters have been left out, to form one word, using “less” space or adding convenience): “They’ve (they have)” “what’s (what is)” “aren’t (are not)” “I’m (I am)”
@englishwithdaniella2 ай бұрын
@@windydays2 Mr.gamer2135 is right! :) If your question was referring to the appearance, a comma can be visually identical to an apostrophe, depending on the font, the only difference being that an apostrophe has a raised position (') and a comma has a lowered position (,). If your question was referring to their usage, as mr.gamer2135 says, apostrophes are used either to show possession ("that is David's bag") or to indicate an abbreviation ("that's" = "that is"). Commas have very many usages in English. In this video, they indicate either a list or a person being directly addressed. 🙂

what about being pronounced as y? like sight, light, might, etc
@englishwithdaniella3 ай бұрын
@@ShadowCurses Great question! What you're hearing there is something called a "diphthong", which in fact has nothing to do with the "gh", but rather with the "i". The "gh" is completely silent. The "i" is pronounced as a so-called "diphthong" in linguistics, which means it has 2 vowel sounds: an "ah" followed by an "ee" (which explains the "y" sound you can hear). I can make a video on diphthongs if you'd like :)
