Black and Hispanic was involved in the hip-hop movement because I remember Hispanics being around we all hung together and was doing the same thing, rapping, tagging, popping and breaking... Stop with the divide

How would anybody know exactly that Hip-Hop was REALLY a Black American thing to begin with, when history goes back way further than we think? If anyone is familiar with the philosophy of Socrates which is “something always comes from something,” you would understand that nobody really knows for sure when and where something like Hip-Hop originated from aside from what we have been told. August 11th, 1973 is literally a recent memory and to say “Hip-Hop started then by such and such” is actually foolish. We just gave it a name and a date and said this is how it started when in fact, history goes a lot deeper than that, why do we make such a common mistake as North Americans when it comes to the history of anything? Where we need to start doing the real work and research is by looking at Africa, where damn near everything was birthed from establishments to the first set of musical instruments. As a people, we were really given culture from not Black AMERICANS, but AFRICANS.

Hip hop isn't just rapping and emceeing. It's b-boying, writing, and DJing. Caribbeans and AfroLatinos were there the whole time. I hate back peddling 10%ers.😑

Hip Hop started when Bam proclaimed the five elements had a commonality among the NYC youth that indeed made it a culture. Prior to that you had seperate activities that evolved out of largely Black American art and culture. But 1 2 or 3 people doesnt make Hip-Hop a culture. It's when you have tens of thousands of people that are all dancing, dressing, speaking, and creatively doing the same things or variations onvthe same things, living under similar circumstances, thats culture.
