So helpful! For wound closure of a laceration this size or a little bigger, what would you expect someone to rate the pain without anesthesia/painkillers?

Ok. Great instruction video. But, how do you fit it in the hard plastic case on the Tacmed site? The buckle is too large to fit.
@bashkillszombies10 ай бұрын
Just be aware, if you buy from TacMed in your country you are probably paying 3-5 times more than TacMed America. Try to get it from the OEM and save. They'll claim it's "postage" but your postage buying from TacMed will be not even 1% the excessive gouging you'll get locally. Edit: Also chitosan is about $1 per kg, buy some. Chitosan in medical products costs more than gold, when in reality it's a dirt cheap byproduct. The fact it can save lives should be more important than the fact most people don't know it's literally just prawn shell powder and was until recently just used as landfill. They'll add some chitosan to a product then add a 0 after the price tag relying on you not researching it.

The gauze packing is a plus however the design of the Israeli bandage allows a person to apply it to themself if need be, especially to an arm

Well done. I carry one in my truck and two in my Boy Scout day pack. When I had to bandage in combat, I wish we had these. You did a good job.

Initial measurement of the tube is crucial. The flange to bevel should correspond roughly with nostril to ear lobe distance..

Could this work for young kids as well? Since they don’t need as much pressure are grown adults
@Pugrug. Жыл бұрын
It could but kids have lower blood pressure than adults and typically a pressure dressing or simply clamping on their arms will suffice.

Correct me if im wrong but does jamming a bandage into the deep wound is something that should be done?
@Tommy1marg2 жыл бұрын
yeah especialy on wonds made by high velocity objects, by doing so you are compressing damaged blood vessels and stop bleeding
@derekdahmen142 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, it’s called wound packing.
@thisiconisactuallygoofysfa9960 Жыл бұрын
Yes. I know it seems like something that shouldn’t be done, but: in an event of a deep wound, you can’t just put a bandage over the site to absorb it. As long as it’s not in the arteries and veins, the patient is still losing blood. Doing this applies pressure within the wound to stop blood from coming out of the artery and out of the hole. Hemostatic gauze also has a chemical in it that clots blood, which slows the blood flow and keeps the bleeding under control better. Although hemostatic gauze is about 30 bucks a package, you can still use regular packing gauze if it fits your price point. Technically, hemostatic gauze does a better job at controlling blood loss, but it has still yet to be proved in a mortality

I have had three retention clips on the Gen4 TQs shatter in storage, which worries me. While not a total failure of the TQ it still worries me that a component on this has failed on three separate TQs, apparently from different batches. Has anything been done to address the material used for the TRAC?
