What is the logic behind not having a windlass? It's not needed for such a small limb?

Windlass tourniquets are less effective on a dog's leg because of the different shapes in anatomy.

Could this work for young kids as well? Since they don’t need as much pressure are grown adults

It could but kids have lower blood pressure than adults and typically a pressure dressing or simply clamping on their arms will suffice.

yea, that looks entirely too realistic lol I guess it'd help acclimate you to deal with actually being in this scenario, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me want to hug the nearest dog
