Ooooh, nice!!! Looking forward to the next dino talk video then! I've built that Lindberg Rexy, it's a fun kit. Just be mindful of the jaws; the tooling was a little out of alignment and causes the lower jaw to be translated a little to the left compared to the upper jaw. It's an easy fix with a little heat, but something to be aware of!

Using the tie on her shirt for the neckerchief is brilliant. I cut the tie off and sculpted the bottom of the shirt to make it look like it was tucked in and sandwiched a thin bit of blue fabric around her neck for the tie. I used the Belloq legs and the person that does those proofs of concept mockups is insanely talented. They did this elaborate playset diorama and it looks incredible!

Neat tutorial-- my only gripe with this "family" of 2-parters is the cure time. Even ApoxySculpt is too long for me. And then there's plumber's A-B putty-- it says 10 minutes but watch out around 4... Oh! One time I actually called up ApoxySculpt and mentioned that the lighter-colored part (can't remember it is was A or B) had these lumps that form in it over time-- the gal I spoke to said to microwave the stuff. Well! That was the first time I'd heard of that. As it turned out, I didn't do that. Well, the whole point of calling the place was to buy more. So with fresh stuff on hand, I didn't want to experiment. But there you have it.

I very much enjoy your exploration of book nooks. You had an idea for the bridge of the Nautilus that still intrigues me-- though it sounds entirely scratch built. You need a dedicated book nook shelf-- I think I mentioned this already but I still think it's a good idea: get a 1x10 and screw it under the left-right shelving so it is at the bottom of the wood. Plenty of room.

Very nice, chum! Tell me, if you will-- who is "S"? Sectaurs... (insert soul shattering scream)... I was part of the small team that produced those miniature comic books that were part of the original packaging. A dreadful experience which came within a hairsbreadth of costing my my job. The gloved hand toy seemed like such a no-brainer that they decided to child-test it after they began production... the word was: the kids started screaming immediately. Which warmed my heart at the time-- I know, rather small of me, no? But who can buy better Christmas presents for you than you... of course!

I think the green 1960 Galaxy (or whatever that is) is a so-called promo model. These were quite common back in the 1950s, 60s and 70s, and were sold at the dealerships as part of the promotion campaigns of their newest models. These were often made by model kit manufacturers like Jo-Han and MPC, and some of the promo models were also released in more detailed kit form with fully detailed engine bay etc. But not all promo models were released as kits unfortunately. The reason your model is warped is because in the 1950s and I believe up until around mid 1960s, they used acetate plastic in these promo models. This type of plastic is much more prone to warping than styrene (which is used in kits), and your model is actually quite good considering it's probably 65 years old. I've seen A LOT worse. Anyway, I agree with your broader point. There's no reason why a toy can't also be a model kit. Or the other way around for that matter. When I was a kid I built models and then played with them. 🙂 The border between toys and model kits is blurry. Those of us who are in our 50s and still building plastic models don't want to admit it, but we are basically adults playing with toys. 😄

I got a resin printer too-- I had some extra money and ran into an unbeatable price. Haven't used it-- but am studying up. It is smart to have a filament printer-- because sometimes you don't need the high res resin print. Next year for sure.

It sounds like it *wants* to be a union-- the account is using union terms. But this doesn't sound like a strike so much as a slow-down. And the Spanish definition of "strike" might not be ours. Interesting stuff. I'm basically with the workers-- they've probably been working with ancient crap and barely holding on as is. We'll see. It seems like anything can cause a price increase, so I'm glad I just got a batch of Valejo paints. It also doesn't matter if the paint sets have been holding down a shelf over here for three months-- the price will go up if imports are going up.

An excellent scale and material for the subject. Could you use goo-goo eyes for the "eye" part? Then melt one and bash up the mechanism side?

That worked out very well-- gorgeous in fact. Not too much work involved, a sacrificial car kit, whatever you have to say about the Confederate Flag-- it was part of the show-- that lighting adds a lot of depth. Ms. Bach is always welcome! Of note-- the odd roof slant is very clever-- I know it's in the original design, but it adds a lot of perspective where there isn't any. Neat. The hood *could* have been open... but this is really nice. Tells the story.

A lovely bit of inspiration. I am shocked you're not showing the hood up and engine worked on. What else could be wrong with the General Lee? But okay-- are you showing a little of the C-Flag? Perhaps ;on the wall? And-- wouldn't it have been nice if some car kits came with a "standard" or maybe a "series of" workshop gear. Like just the sort of thing you need-- a replacement jack. That way, there's be lots of them just for bashing now and then. Those Tamiya racing equipment kits are way too expensive and high end. What's needed is a good ole' boys' junky garage tools and accessories.
