Stand and fight, we do consider Reminded of an inner pact between us, that's seen as we go And ride there, in motion To fields in depth of honour, defending Stand the marchers soaring talons Peaceful lives will not deliver freedom, fighting we know Destroy oppression, the point to reaction As leaders look to you, attacking Choose and renounce, throwing chains to the floor Kill or be killing, faster sins correct the flow Casting giant shadows off fast penetrating force To alter via the war that's seen, as friction spans the spirits wrath ascending to redeem Wars that shout in screams of anguish Power spent passion bespoils our soul receiver, surely we know In glory we rise to offer Create our freedom, a word we utter A word Words cause our banner, victorious our day Will silence be promised as violence displays The curse increased, we fight the power and live by it by day Our gods awake in thunderous roars and guide the Leader's hand in paths of glory to the cause Listen, should we fight forever Knowing as we do know, fear destroys Listen, should we leave our children Listen, our lives stare in silence Help us now Listen, your friends have been broken They tell us of your poison, now we know Kill them, give them as they give us Slay them, burn their children's laughter On to hell The fist will run, grasp metal to gun The spirit sings in crashing tones, we gain the battle drum Our cries will shrill, the air will moan and crash into the dawn The pen won't stay the demon's wings The hour approaches, pounding out the Devil's sermon Soon, oh soon the light Pass within and soothe this endless night And wait here for you Our reason to be here Soon, oh soon the time All we move to gain will reach and calm Our heart is open Our reason to be here Long ago, set into rhyme Soon, oh soon the light Ours to shape for all time, ours the right The sun will lead us Our reason to be here Soon, oh soon the light Ours to shape for all time, ours the right The sun will lead us Our reason to be here

This is a very clear remix of The Gates of Delirium, one of the classic YES 20-minute tunes from the 1970s.

I may go meet Patrick Moraz at the up coming PROGTOBER show in Rutherford N.J.! He's appearing for meeting and will play solo piano- he has done the SOON segment from dis beauteous song in the past, Refugee bits like he played in July 1975, during the extensive RELAYER tour... My first 4 YES shows in Philadelphia were RELAYER shows- 12-14-1974, July 21-22,1975, and bicentennial biggie June 12, 1976, JFK stadium, 130,000 plus! Those green planar and single line green lasers, This song....47 years now.... So now later today, I will be going to my 66th YES concert- and this $90 15th row orchestra center ticket appeared at 5PM yesterday. Blown A-Way! So you tell me " I gave up YES last century!" Really?! Too bad! LOL! I understand but...maybe not! 4 years since the last YES ( #65, and V.I.P., negotiated down $100 while I was in the ticket line for a cheap seat, AUG 2019... A RELAYER song is to be played. Tonight, I think They played this in 2019- not bad! So friends, prog on man! 10:08 15:35 16:49

10:24 this is squire's most badass melody, tbh, this song is seriously intense for the time because of that section, no wonders he inspired the greatest metal bassists.

I've been a Yes fan since the Fragile album, and no matter how many times over the years I've tried to like this composition, I'm unable to. To me this album sounds like a collection of rejects from TTO or perhaps even Tormato. It's completely devoid of hooks to capture you and leave you wanting more. After many years of repeated listening I find it atrocious. Only Chris Squire's obvious contribution at around 10:23 has any merit, but then it devolves into cacaphony.

I like aspects of this mix - e.g. being able to hear the drums and bass really well - but it all seems to lack some of the edginess of the original. IMHO 🌠

Stellar. Jon Anderson is touring now, ill see him next month, albeit without Howe and the others. I hope they play Gates. One last time to rejoice in the sounds from Yes's heyday.

Steve Wilsons remix sounds like an amazing entire alternate take- im hearing keyboard and guitar parts ive never heard in 45 years! Yes's greatest song -- the battle sequence starting at 8:05 is Steve's most incredible sounding guitar work. And Patrick's keyboard sounds and solos are fantastic. Chris is otherworldly as usual !

Great remixing job by Steven Wilson, you can hear a lot more detail that was previously buried, and what a treat to at last hear Alan White's drums!
@johnvalencia9927 Жыл бұрын
I don't think the other stuff was buried due to technical limitations in 1974, I think it was a choice they made at the time to have Jon's acoustic at the subliminal level, etc. I prefer the original mix, the drums sound way better. No idea what mixing console SW ran the 2" multi track through but it sounds flat and dull to me.

Steven likes to roll off the mid highs in Jon's vocals and mix Chris in in place. He pretty much improves the detail everywhere else.
