Saw them live just after they formed. They blew my musical socks off. The high level of musicianship and wonderful arrangements were so unexpected. Utterly, brilliantly, unique.

By my reckoning, the main melody in the beginning sounds like Pierre Attaingnant's "Tourdion". It's a fantastic rendition.

+temporalparallax, yes,the beginning of 'ethelion' until the drums passage is the french dance 'tourdion',the rest is original.

Actually, that is a Krumhorn, the precursor to the Bassoon.

@@alastairaardvark8213 The precursor to the bassoon was the curtal (dulcian). The crumhorn's precursor was probably the bladder pipe.

I saw a live of these guys in a chruch/cathedral. (they didn't do lives before, but have one like a decade ago I think) ... I'm pretty sure that the guy sitting on the far left was playing a bassoon!
