Hmm. Maybe I’m missing something, I’m not a woodworker, but wouldn’t that allow the table to slide on the base if someone pushed on one side of it?

Dimensional change is typically 0.2% or less. You put them tight, the slight beding of the clip is enought to account for any expansion.

Seems like that would work well on counter top to cabinets! I might have to try that.

My go table. Is a bike lift that has the frame of a 1948 Indian chief sitting on it.. it should be a running mashine in about 5 years and about 30k 😆.. hopefully a little sooner as that would put me at 73, not sure I'll ever get to ride it at that rate.. lol..

I'm in the process of planning one of these. The plans look great, the build looks great. But I'm wondering about materials. Rather than use plywood and edge banding for all of this, is there a compelling reason not to use actual lumber for parts like the bed side panels?

70% of the video was you changing the blade. Content for the viewer is how to grow your channel. Spending 70% of a video making a ham sandwhich is pointless for your audience.

Looking at this video in 2024 and the way you did the dowels is backwards from what most do. You took the "drawing concept" out when you drilled the dowel hole through the bread board. The 2 outter mortises should have had the ends squared with a chisel to allow side to side movement of the square shouldered tenon.
