I had a 2005 VTX 1300 R and use Honda 10W40 for oil and changed my springs in the fork tubes to Progressive Springs and used 10 weight fork tube oil roughly 15-1/2 ounces per tube, also as for the clutch check the clutch basket and see if it’s more than 3 turns out, if it is back it off to 1 and a half turns and adjust the cable, also I took off the bull horn bars and put a pair of 10 inch mini apes and all you have to do is re-route the throttle cables and clutch cable, no need to change out the front brake cable, trust me I have been wrenching on bikes for 40 years and I’m 60 years old. You and your friend will not be disappointed, and I too had a Mustang seat which sits at the perfect angle for a nice Iron Butt ride 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

What are the turn signal flasher posts labeled as? L, B, E ? + , - , G ? So many symbols on different flashers. What about turn signal switches with 3 wires?
@jameshuman709120 күн бұрын
What about the other wire coming out of two wire turn signals?

Love my vtx and it does get up and go when I want to and smooth enough to take up the canyons and winding roads.. and very well balanced I can stop and hold my bike up without putting my feet down.. and there is a reserve on the gas cock. But I don't like to run it that low.

The clutch on my Vt600 and former Vt750 feel like you describe the VTX cluth. I never had a problem or missed shift on either one. Probably just a ahadow characteristic.

250cc is perfect for beginners, and 500cc is about the sweet spot ideal for a lifetime daily driver keeper bike. 750cc is already pushing too big, too heavy, and too wasteful of gas... just to have acceleration on tap you don't need. 1100cc, 1300cc, and 1800cc... I just shake my head at them. Esp. the 1800cc When you're gas mileage is getting down there to 35mpg, 30mpg, 25mpg... you might as well drive a car.

My first bike was a Honda. Lol. I've had several Honda's and still have a vtx. What good would a review video be if 1) the person doing the review has no bikes to compare it to, and 2) if they were just going to act like the bike was perfect? In that case I'd have to say every bike was perfect. Also, how have I "not rode a Honda"? I was riding one in the video 😂

I just bought one of these yesterday, 04 with 14000 miles on it for 3500 and had did all the service on it, Rode it home, Great bike, almost like it better than my Yamaha 1100 V-star which will be up for sale soon. Seat has a little to be desired, butt was sore after a 110 mile ride home from picking it up. But love the power and sound.

Best bike I’ve had so far and I’ve had a lot of bikes.. all big v-twins… I liked the vtx so much I changed it after a couple of years for a Honda Fury.. same engine and it’s even better.. maybe cos it’s a bit lighter being stripped down chop style.. it rides smoother and handles very well. The VTX is one of the best cruisers by far.. the 1800 is a beast but I prefer the handling of the 1300.

I will be uploading content to a different KZbin channel for reasons concerning optimization. The main focus will be working with the vulcan line for the foreseeable future. I just got a 4 axis cnc machine and plan to build custom engine and cosmetic parts as well as focusing on performance and handling of these bikes. I have designs for pistons, cams, rocker arms, etc. as well as several other things to drastically change the appearance of the vulcans and give them more of an aggressive modern look. Even down to a chain drive conversion. Once the channel is up I will post it under your comment here since I have pinned it to the top.

Yup. I have the 1300 as well, and I was annoyed at how high first gear is. It makes it hard to maneuver at low speeds. You have to feather the clutch a lot. Also I'd really like a 6th gear. I'd like a tach. And I'd like a gas gauge. Other than that I love this bike.
