Hi, just a quick question!! Did you tweak all these presets yourself? I think I was under the initial impression that I could use the pedal out of the box, but it seems that not all sounds are "ready to go" since volume levels seem to vary wildly.

KATANA-MINI X: How can I record the guitar sound through the amp in a DAW? To record the guitar sound through KATANA-MINI X in a DAW, connect the (PHONES) / REC jack to your computer via an audio interface. Note: If a plug is inserted into this jack, no sound is output from the amp’s speaker. Please monitor through the audio interface during recording. Please use an audio cable without built-in resistance. Audio cannot be transmitted to a computer or mobile device via Bluetooth.

I got the Spark MINI a few weeks ago. Been using the app to develop a set of tones that I want to practice with. This Boss Katana Mini X is interesting. I wanted a portable practice amp with a rechargeable battery. I had also looked at the Joyo DC-15S that is also non-app. The Spark MINI seemed most feature packed but I would have been tempted with this Mini X for sure. Love the look with the knobs in the front but it lacks a lot of features that the Spark MINI has like a USB interface and fully adjustable effects settings.
@sixstringsamurai77Ай бұрын
Absolutely, as I replied to one of the other comments, the Sparks seem like they're designed to really dive into the app. This is almost the opposite. It's about immediacy and fun and inspiring you to play without getting too bogged down with tweaking.
@metalliholicАй бұрын
Trying to decide between this, the spark mini or spark 2?
@sixstringsamurai77Ай бұрын
Depends on what you want! Sparks have lots of smart features, but I've heard that you have to dive into the app to get the best out of it. Katana Mini X so far is just straightforward and fun, old school practice amp with modern conveniences like Bluetooth, rechargeable battery etc. Personally it's made me want to play more because it's so easy.
@Warriorrr00217 күн бұрын
I practice with the smallest, Spark Go, and it sounds incredible for its size and the app is very easy to use, plus, you have TuneCloud, where people upload their presets, and its pretty dope, for example I search, Dammit and someone upload the exact tone from the song, or the tone from Deftones and it sound pretty similar, so I will go for the Spark Mini, also, it doesnt feel cheap, the materials are good

For guitar players: if you're going to simulate a keyboard player then you need to think about "pads" because it's a major part of what synth players do. A pad is a background chord/sound that gives a section of music key and tonality. If you play pads then you have to start thinking in terms of chord inversions and which inversion is the best one for any given phrase.
