The large bezels saved me when i raged at a game and stomped on it, There was a hole in the bezels! And it was still useable with some sellotape, Phew!

Curved screens are the worst. I bought samsung phones, but the first curved glass samsung phone i bought was the last samsung phone i bought. Awful awful design choice

And of course the guy got his informations wrong and credited apple for something android phones were doing years prior, apple doesn't deserve credit for nothing since Steve Jobs passed, and people should stop glorifying and acting like they are NASA of the phone industry.

The best thing about pop up camera is, it always keeps the camera lens clean. So, you don't need to wipe it every time before taking a selfie.

The only reason is cost… it’s cheaper to not have it pop up, I have a 5 year old realme x and and it still works fine.

Hahaha. It’s clear you don’t know the real story of the curved screen. It goes back 2013 and a leak of a proposed future iPhone display which was distinctly curved at the edges. Samsung copied (i.e. stole) the idea and rushed to market in the hope of outflanking Apple. Sound familiar? The reality was the “curve” was really about the iPhone 6 design which had rounded sides and allowed the user to “seamlessly swipe in from the edge”. Apple never had any intention of going with a curved screen, it was about one handed usability as Apple finally made the jump to large screen sizes. Samsung had completely misunderstood and personally I think they were played. At the time the rivalry was so fierce and the tech bro reporters were so partisan that if you loved Samsung/Android or hated Apple (I know this sounds crazy) the curved screen was championed as innovation and other Android manufacturers followed suit. Samsung et all doubled and tripled down on the idea for a few years until they figured out the curved iPhone wasn’t coming. The S6 Edge was a beautiful phone but the edge distortion was laughable and its insane Samsung put it into production but curved iPhone 6 renders were everywhere. Funny Times!

I wanted a new phone in 2020 and was really excited for the pop up camera that I'd seen on some phones previously. Then I found out they no longer make them. I was extremely disappointed! As someone who grew up without a smartphone, as screen should have a complete set of pixels X by Y. No weird round corners and holes..

Curved screens arent disappearing 😅 My phone itself is a curved screen Infact, I'll say most midrange and budget phones these days are already using Curved screens

Watching this on my blue OnePlus 7pro! I can't find a worthy design to upgrade to, i carry 2 phones, 2nd is iPhone, so i clearly see the age of OnePlus with gaming, especially COD, i hope someone launches a pot up camera phone soon! Definitely buying!

I love pop-up selfie cameras ! I have a Poco F2 Pro since 2020, the mecanism works flawlessly. This phone has been dropped, thrown, many parts have been changed, but pop-up camera is solid as a rock. Now my new phone that's worth 1200 bucks at launch have two ugly holes in the screen. How's that premium ??
@ReadieFurКүн бұрын
I don't mind the hole punch on my phone because it's no bigger than the status bar and it's off to the side of the screen so it's never in the way of anything

I use an lg velvet (2020 kinda old) it has a big kinda deep curved display i didn't get any issues like accidental touches from it i even got screen protectors applied and that covers the edge so no problems with screen protectors either but the durability is very low i dropped it like 3/4 times now its cracked but one thing for sure the curved display is beautiful gives a flagship feel and look even compared to the newest flagships
