You must really consider Doran Shield a lot more. Specially in heavy poke lanes. You need Doran Shield + Second Wind simply to survive lane. Unless you're actually in low elo. Anything higher than diamond and players know full well how to punish Pantheon with heavy poke champions.

I've been emerald 4 for about a month with a 55% wr now and this is video really hit home, I play Riven and I usually go a little behind in lane because I'm really scared of inting and losing my team the game. But the thing is Riven needs to get fed to carry, she's not a tank and I've lost lane so many times now that I'm used to playing Riven 5/5 and stuff like that so I will try out what you said in this video! Even if I int my ass off at least I will start learning how to stomp lane and carry games

Maybe try an addendum to this with them playing the same / similar champs - also what about weak early champs like mundo? are there times where trade avoidance is superior?

Great video as always! The analysis is clear and makes sense to me. I think if the matchups were different, it would help to show the difference between the approaches even more. Since irelia won’t be able to utilize her abilities to disengage against darius(can stick to her and run her down), whereas the other player is playing ranged vs melee and ww poses a lot less kill threat compared to Darius

Love the emphasis on trying stuff out, even if it might seem a little int to a more experienced player. Just change out playstyle/runes/items and try as many variations on a matchup as possible to quickly fill up the knowledge bank. Great vid 😊

As an Irelia main, I usually run ignite vs Darius and all in after he 3 wave crashes and first blood every time with the lvl 4 vs 3. He never runs tp, so you don't get punished for it. If he gets better you run presence of mind over absorb life and overall give a better laning if you manage hp better. Watching ireliaking also taught me magical footwear and tonic are favorable to use once you get used to them. I am currently Emerald 3.

Amazing video! I have a question regarding freezing: So if I understand it correctly, you want to freeze to get an advantage, but once you have an advantage over your opponent or you are behind freezing is actually not worth it, right? The logic being that if you are ahead, crashing waves allows you to roam and extend your lead on other lanes/objectives, potentially dive your opponent, get plates, proxy/eat enemy jungle and basically get ahead more and faster than if you kept denying them minions, right? And if you are behind, freezing might first not be possible (since enemy can just walk up and break your freeze), but even if it you can hold it, it's letting your stronger enemy freeroam and extend their lead on the map, right? Do I understand it correctly or am I missing something?

yo at 5:03 ingame u skipped the frame and said its nothing too special but here its very important to hold enemy wave that is coming to not let it go into ur tower range thx for that enemy will lose more cs cuz enemy minions will hit urs and u will have better slowpush, in safer spot and just bigger wave, easier crash later, when kennen came back to lane he lost only 1 melee minion, with that hold he would've lost maybe 3 even

It really was amazing to see how in that gwen lane you played the lane way better than me even though I think my camille mechanics are better. Trading ignite for a good reset is something that never occurred to me before. Glad I keep learning about my main!
