Informative video, but disappointing. If you change your lifestyle, then you get the same results without being dependent on pharmaceuticals
@Ren_coachingКүн бұрын
One cannot lose weight in a chronically elevated insulin (and cortisol) state. Peptides can be a bridge for many while making those changes you speak of, and restoring their metabolic state so they can actually lose weight. Constant hunger always wins, and whether it’s due to chronically high insulin or menopause (and that window as a woman ‘figures out’ her hrt dosage) or a combination of both, peptides can be a tremendous tool. Appetite control vs suppression. Tremendous feedback from users on mood improvements, addiction, etc. We are just discovery their benefits beyond weight loss. Mono therapy, high dosing and lack of self responsibility is why they get attacked. Strings of amino acids used for decades are not in the same category as pharmaceuticals to cover symptoms such as statins, blood pressure meds, and more. Apples and oranges.
@karena135Күн бұрын
@Ren_coaching yes, I am aware of that. Ozempic causes you to lose lean muscle mass. Losing muscle mass is never good for anyone. Just intermittent fast and cut out the carbs and you will save a lot of money and have better results than being dependent on pharmaceuticals for the rest of your life
@karena135Күн бұрын
@Ren_coaching just being intermittent fasting and cutting carbs. If you cut your carbs down to 20 g, you'll fix your insulin resistance and lose weight. Plus you will not be dependent on pharmaceuticals that cost a truckload of money. Isn't that better for your health to not be dependent on pharmaceuticals??

Extremely good and helpful video that reflects my own experience. The only point i do not fully agree with is the dosage. It is hard to adjust doses with the single use pens. Here in Germany we have pens with 4 official doses where you count clicks and often it helps to reduce the dose / increase only half the dose to avoid side effects while having the good and helpful ones. I am not talking about microdosing and playing around without knowing what i am doing. But i lost 25 kilo by slowly increasing my dose until i was at 4mg every 8 days because even the starting dose was making me feel very uncomfortable. I also completely changed nutrition, learned which food to generally avoid because it is bad for me and did much more strength training and although i lost some muscle mass, i am now down to 2mg every 7 days, adding more and more refeed days while keeping my weight (i am still loosing a bit) and turning another 3 kg fat into muscle. Bloodwork is perfect, i am completely healthy with a HOMa of 0,9. But i am prepared to being on those peptides for the rest of my life if necessary. Hoping to cycle then at the lowest possible dose though.

Very helpful, thank you!! I have always avoided more traditional/western medicine, mostly because I don't want to put chemicals (prescriptions) in my body. I can relate to many of the stories told here. Now that I am 56 I feel I need to get a "baseline" for heart reasons but also many other things I'm noticing (weight gain, muscle loss, unmotivated, brain fog, etc). Is there a particular type of doctor/practitioner I should seek out? I began researching Functional medicine doctors. I want to avoid the "here's some prozac" (which has happened to me when I tried to talk to a Dr. about Adrenal Fatigue about 15 years ago). Thank you!

Thank you. You briefly touched upon providers’ fears of medical malpractice litigation. This is a major issue that is not mentioned and addressed enough. Women are told to educate and advocate for ourselves, but this will change nothing about doctors’ ignorance of the topic of menopause and their malpractice fears. I would like to know why we’re not given a consent form / waiver of liability to sign? Please help us understand this and how it can be changed. Otherwise barely anything will change for women on this topic. I think the powerful statement of Dr Menn towards the end about none of the big cancer centers willing to give women with breast cancer local vaginal estrogen despite “thousands of studies” makes this more than clear.

This is something I have watched worsen over the past 25 years....worsening concerns around being sued, which governs decisions around care for patients. Dr Menn says it best...."collaboration not asking for consent". We need to educate our patients and, jointly, work on identifying their preferences and priorities vs solely dictating out of concerns around being sued. Does that make sense?
@cm19068 күн бұрын
@ Of course this makes sense. The problem is that the current system is not set up for this at all! In order for doctors to educate women, doctors need to be educated themselves! We know they are not being taught about menopause and HRT prescribing in medical schools. Next is the time it takes to educate a patient during her appointment, have an informed discussion and come to a collaborative decision. During a 10-minute appointment? Impossible. Not to mention the amount of money that providers currently get paid for this type of service. Who is going to change all of this? Until then, women will get the “treatment” that’s safest for their provider instead of what’s best for them and their health.

Lets stop talking about the "well meaning " clinicians who ignore womens symptoms and call it what it is : in most cases uneducated and close minded, unwilling to learn new material and the anti female bias in medicine that makes the male body the default norm.
@lindajones484910 күн бұрын
Blaming the media for reporting relative risk( of breast cancer) is unfair. Lets put the blame on the misleading( lie) where it belongs: on the doctors who gave the press conference BEFORE their study was published. These doctors blocked input by their multiple principle investigators deliberately. The 3 person writing committee is responsible for the content of the press conference.One of the leaders of this fiascco wanted to shake up the medical world and he certainly did.

I'm also an active individual who does resistant weight training 2 to 3 times a week, walks multiple times (20-30 minutes) a day, and eats whole foods. Thank you for your podcast, Cynthia❣️ You have such a soothing voice. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us novices. 😊

What a self-righteous, harmful, WOKE! It's not just the ones who do actual terrorism that are terrorists. All those who are part of the (religious) culture that backs them, nurses them, refuses to condemn them and fools the foolish by saying 'not everyone is a terrorist' are also, in effect, terrorists. So, this tired cliche, 'not everyone is a terrorist' does not say much at all, considering the fact that the millions who are terrorists at heart are the millions who supply oxygen to the ones who go on to realize their awful dream of putting to the sword those they deem 'blasphemers', as they have been doing since the seventh century. But the massive crowds of bumptious, first-world WOKES, who are ignorant of their own history or choose to turn a blind eye to it, because they are, ironically, WOKES, equally have blood on their hands. Remember the Crusades, fools, research it. For those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. Please, doc, stick to stuff that you know and don't stick your nose into politics in which you prove to be rather simple-minded.

I’m 43 and having some perimenopause symptoms so I asked my current gyno at my last visit about it. She said she doesn’t handle that and to try and find a functional doc to help. I tried my previous gyno office and they said I have to have proof of a mammogram to be seen for hormone therapy. I’ve contacted a couple functional med docs/NPs and they aren’t accepting new patients. I’d love to have a good suggestion for telehealth option! From OK btw. Thank you for this channel and all these conversations ❤

I’m in an area that has multiple option and/or I’ve utilized zoom. It’s cost prohibitive wherever you live. One of your associates charges $2,000 (ordering my own bloodwork) for a finite amount of access and time. Prices regular people out of the market.

This is a big issue. But most alternative or functional practitioners can't accept Insurance because the insurance model will only pay for a 15 to 20-minute appointment. These practitioners spend an hour to an hour and a half trying to get to the bottom of issues, and at least one if not more follow-ups are usually necessary. It's a tough situation, and like you said, it eliminates most of us from getting this kind of care. We have to read on the internet get books and do our best on our own. 🫤 I appreciate the wealth of information that Cynthia shares on youtube, Facebook etc. It's a huge help.
