ANNA ANDERSON DID NOT HAVE THE REGAL BEARING OF SOMEONE WHO HAD BEEN EDUCATED SINCE 6 years of age, and who most likely spoke several languages. Amnesia has nothing to do with confidence. If she were truly Anastasia, she would not be hiding her face, and hiding under her blankets as though she is not doing a very good job of fooling people.

She presents a very plain, and had none of the elegance of members of any European Court. She had hutzpah I’ll give her that for continuing to state she w grand duchess Anastasia, and after everything still maintaining that claim.

Although I appreciate the objective here, it is really nothing but a HUGE waste of time! Fictional characters, zero evidence to back up ANYTHING...and to what possible avail? NOTHING in this video matters, such as dates, locations, etc., as NONE of it is true!!! Tatiana was found in a mass grave, along with several members of her family, whom were buried in St. Paul's Cathedral decades ago. I undetstand what you are trying to do here. The video was beautifully presented, which was also a huge waste of your time, as well as ours, not to mention a waste of your talent. And, for the love of all that is holy, should you create another video of actual significance, PLEASE learn how to articulate the correct pronunciation of the word: "Ipatiav". It sounds like you are saying impotence. Best of luck to you!

I appreciate knowing that Conrad was not even a British speaker and that he must have always been an outsider. Explains for me his narrative.

The first imposter is beautiful, but in such a completely different way from the Romanovs' very distinct beauty I can't understand how her grandchildren could look at her picture and think "yeah, she could be Anastasia..." Yeah, no. I could throw a rock and have a better chance of hitting someone who looks more like a Romanov than this woman!

Thanks for this great video on Conrad having just finished Typhoon and Heart of Darkness it was very interesting. While reading I usually do a little background on the author and I was astonished to find out he was not English. I was even more surprised reading Typhoon, the prose is terrific and it's a wonderful book. Kipling's comment about a really good translation of a foreign novel is interesting but something I will take into account for future reading.

Very good presentation. But note: the name Job (as in the name of a Russian patriarch and the name of a book of the Bible) is pronounced with a long o -- JOBE. Bible knowledge is important when you're talking about history. Nevertheless, I hope you acquire more viewers, because you offer a real education!

We can't entirely rely on official attempts to disprove the survival of Alexei. Tsar Nicholas left behind DNA in Japan, after he suffered an assassination attempt. That DNA conflicts, and casts doubt upon, previous DNA samples. The British have a vested interest in muddying the waters, since the Tsar left a fortune in the Bank of England. Where did that fortune go?

I read this story with a grain of salt. I tried to give Conrad the benefit of the doubt. Like this video highlights, the lack of humanity of the African natives in the story leaves little room for doubt that Conrad was a racist. My interpretation of the story was that African savagery corrupted the white man, Kurtz. Those who say that he merely highlights the problems of colonialism ignore the undertones of superiority continually enforced throughout the story. The antagonist of the story is not the colonialists, but the natives who threaten to decivilize the white man. If Conrad had intended to highlight the plights of African natives, he would have portrayed them with humanity. Rather than showing the similarities between the colonialists and the natives, he contrasts them. He clearly establishes an idea of good and evil. Unfortunately it is the imperialists who are on the side of good, rescuing Kurtz from a downward spiral into savagery portrayed by Conrad.

It's been proven that Anna Anderson wasn't Anastasia, but how was she privy to information about the royal family that wasn't common knowledge? For example, she surprised some members of the family by describing a game that "she" and her siblings played with their tutor, Mr. Gilliard. She knew personal details about her uncle Ernst. And when asked if she remembered a certain palace guard, she laughed and cried, "The man with the pockets!" The guard in question was an old Romanov family retainer who felt so at ease in their presence that he stood with his hands in his pockets. The family affectionately indulged him in this but it wasn't made public. Given that Anderson was an uneducated Polish factory worker, how did she know these things?
@chatnoir206
@chatnoir206 5 ай бұрын
She didn't actually say: The man with the pockets. What she said, was: Big soldier. Always his hands in his pockets. And if the photo showed a man with his hands in his pockets, it was not exactly an earth shattering comment. The things she told about Ernst of Hesse, were just a repetition of rumors swirling around Germany. And she was not a Polish factory worker, she was a German woman from the working class.
