hi there. i realise its been years since this video but can you remember if the lipo 2200mAh fitted and balanced fairly easily. the manufacture quotes a 750 to 1050 battery!

Hi. Great flying. I fly electric gliders aswell but how do you turn at such a low altitude without losing height? Is it because the odessy is light? My gliders weigh approx 2.5 kilos so maybe they lose height much more when banking because they weigh more!!

Feels like a dream. How does the Odyssey handle some wind (20 to 30km/h) ?
@tschipeto2 жыл бұрын
It's more a light weight / light wind glider. It speeds only with nose down ;-)

I've watched this 100 times and love it. But I have to ask... I have the same model, Arthobby Odyssey and it does sound great. But nothing a good as this sound. Have you used a spinner that creates this sound, is it in the video edit or what's that great sound coming from?
@tschipeto5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! yeah sounds nice, but I think the sound is the result of all the bad aerodynamic characteristics on the plane like: rudder gaps, rough wing surface, spinner gap. Lukily it still flies great. I use a spinner with a cooling hole, but i dont think that it makes the noise. The Odyssey generates only a fraction of the noise since I closed the rudder gaps with tape! want more noise? fly fast and close ;-)

thx - I wouldn't say better than NAN Orion, they have different flying capabilities. In stronger conditions more wingload is more fun ;-)
Amazing flying. You really made me buy the same model and get back to gliders :) Did you use Corona CS-939MG all over? Do you still think servos/motor (Turnigy D3542/6) combination was a good choice?
@tschipeto7 жыл бұрын
Servus. Good Question. I recommend heavier motor and/or bigger battery for a better C.G., because I had to add ~45g ballast in the nose (motor maybe D3548/6 or so). Servos can be better but for my budget-setup they still work fine. in the fuselage I use MEX-55-MG. Additionally I recommend to build the wing not as flat as I did. At least as in the plan - it would circle much better/easier in thermals.

Thank you very much for advice ;)

Any specific reason you didn't use corona in a fuselage? Do you think corona would work fine in fuse too?

Excellent video - I've not seen that colour scheme before. I am soon to start building my model - what power + motor + servos are you using here?
Great - many thanks for the setup details. I was thinking of going 3s for better thermal performance, but your 4s setup sure looks like fun. Is it a new kit or old? Still not seen that wing graphics before. Cheers
@tschipeto8 жыл бұрын
3S for lower weight? not neccessary.. my flying weight is about 1650g (36,7g/dm²) and it thermals like a charm! I'm gonna make a wingjoiner out of steel (+400g or so) to have even more fun in good thermal conditions :-) this kit is from 2015 do you have a different wing design?
@CirrusRC8 жыл бұрын
Mine is 2016. But all the designs I've see have diagonal stripes on the wing tips. Mine comes with a carbon wing joiner which should be strong enough. How many climb outs do you get from that battery on 4s? cheers
@tschipeto8 жыл бұрын
I didn't count the climbs. I'll make a log next time then I can check it exactly.. sure the carbon joiner is strong enough but I want to add weight ;-)

tschipeto Vielen Dank!
@tschipeto9 жыл бұрын
Schon gekauft?
@Oelcrem9 жыл бұрын
