I really can confirm the positive features of tall fescue. I had bluegrass and perennial ryegrass before, but with hotter and dryer summers I wasn’t able to maintain optimal conditions for these grass types. Then I start over seeding and over time more and more Fescue has established in the turf. Tall fescue really performs well in hot and dry summers, but also looks nice in winter. But I have to point out two things here: (1) Try NOT to water too often! Tall fescue is supposed to develop deep roots into the soil, it won't work if you water that often (and too little at a time). Try the opposite: two inches but with a week in between. The grass won't die, but roots will go deeper into the soil to find water. Why more water? The water have to sink in deeper to supply these longer roots. But the upper soil can and should dry out (this prevents weed-grass types like Poa annua and -trivialis that have very short roots and needs water at the surface) Once established, the grass will survive two weeks of summer temperature with no irrigation at all. (2) Try at seeding to use more seeds, that is something I noticed over time. Then you get a really dense lawn. Some more things: Color of newer varieties like Festuca arundinacea SC-1 (not sure it is available in the States, I’m in Europe) has actually a darker color, finer leaves almost like bluegrass and is developing, stolons (so it spreads out over time). Newer type are also more resilient against diseases. I would also suggest to do a topdressing with sand to make the surface even & dry and prevent fungus at the surface, once the grass is established.

Thank you 💕 I cannot say enough about how your ionizer had helped me! Sadly, somehow people are misinformed about how these help, and do not cause harm. It has helped me with several chemical situations 😢 Education is key to people understanding the invaluable asset these ionizer's are in serious chemical exposure. Thank you ❤

Hi, maybe your lawn needs a new smart irrigation controller? I would like to sponsor you one, which can help you manage watering more easily and smarter.

Thank you very much for the offer. I do have a smart timer, Orbit to be exact, and I'm really happy with it
@Kathy01189 күн бұрын
@@DaddingAllDay When you mention the timer, are you referring to the one installed on the pipes? If you have a sprinkler irrigation system, I would still love for you to try our product. Of course, you can also compare ours with Orbit's functionality, which would provide valuable and honest recommendations for other consumers looking to purchase an irrigation controller.😁

I like the Lesco TTTF Select from Site One. When planting grass seed I get my best results using a top dressing peat moss if a large bare area, Scott’s Lawn Soil if it’s smaller I have found the Lawn Soil is cleaner to work with. I have used both Scott’s and Sta Green Lawn Soil with the Scott’s brand having better quality control

If you couldn't push a screw driver through the ground, how would you be able to do that with the aerator tool? I have compacted clay soil, and I could barely get 1 - 2 inches into the ground jumping on a similar aerator tool. I had to take a power drill and drill holes in the yard.
@DaddingAllDayАй бұрын
Water heavy before aerating. That will help loosen the soil. It's still a work in progress. Water heavy, aerate, keeping working on it.
@Paul-ng4jx2 ай бұрын
I highly doubt it would work because hard-core smokers they stink up everything and smoke. Yeah this is gonna pull in some of that odor, but that odor also sticks to everything around it. It gets in your upholstery it gets in your clothes. Sorry this thing can’t get rid of odor out of your clothes unless you wash them and if you were at home or in your car, it’s not gonna get rid of it because your car seats are gonna absorb it. I hate cigarette smokers. I work at a car wash and it just makes me gag to smell cigarette smoke or people flicking their cigarette butts against the side of the car and you see ashes all down the side of their car cigarette smokers are nasty individuals

Glad I saw this video. To answer whether it's worth purchasing one of these devices... I'd say 100% worth every penny, even up to the really expensive ones. That smell is so bad that it can ruin a sale of a vehicle all together. A lot of people wouldn't even buy the car at half of it's value if it smells really bad. I would say that if it cost me $200 to remove cigarette smell from my vehicle, I'd be asking where do I sign up.

Dude thank you! I couldn't for the life of me figure out why I couldn't thread new line through and couldn't see what was happening on the inside because there is zero information in the instruction book about taking the line head apart. It's really that easy to get rid of crabgrass?? Mind blown and do you put down a post and pre emergent to keep it gone?? I have a BIG problem with crabgrass and up until now have been contemplating removing my entire lawn with a sod cutter and replanting. If you were in my shoes what would your battle plan of attack be? I absolutely hate it 😡 I really want this crapgrass gone. It's been a battle ground between me and this stuff. Any advice and experience is highly highly appreciated. Oh whenever the battle has been won I plan to keep my grass thick and maintained at four inches tall. Johnathan Green black beauty ultra sun and shade is the grass going in.

Some areas are more prone to crabgrass. If I stick to my schedule, I don't ever have it. But, in this case I missed the app, and this part of my lawn just gets weeds.

Lake Ontario is draining down into the falls then continues to Lake Erie. Before all of that the Gulf of St Lawrence which runs down into lake Ontario, all of this water has to move as gravity makes water move down hill. The amount it would take to even try and drain lake Ontario the falls will never do as that means the Gulf of St Lawrence would be drains and that leads into the Atlantic ocean

I have no faith in boutique seed companies as I have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of different seeds from Blackout etc and it does no better than more big box options. The species matters more than the grower. Some soil is just damn hard to grow grass on but you do your best to get the right nutrients into it. Nevertheless, many of these lawn and garden guys try to advocate for companies or whatnot but I’ve been there and got the t shirt and no better

We own a shared rental house, Whether they should or not, they smoke, plus they had a spate of bedbugs. I bought 2 ozone generators after another b/b owner told me about these. After treating all of the rooms twice, for 1 hour each treatment, the cigarette smells were all but gone, it just left behind ehe slightest whiff of ozone. We did notice that any fly's spiders or insects were dead. It also killed some mould in one basement. I now treat the whole house once a month.
