Is there some sort of security to make sure it only drives when you have an active key fob? My concern is what happens if you remote start the car, and someone jumps in to the vehicle and attempt to drive off with it? Can they do that or will the engine shut off when you press the brake/open the door, etc? Thanks.

Nice Job man, looks OEM. Audi interiors age well- with the exception of the LCD- which you've solved.

How did you wire the blue connector? Just plug it into the other black 4pin on the harness? Also, did you have to wire anything to positive and ground? Having trouble getting mine to work

Yes the blue plug plugs into the black 4 pin. Does your module light up at all? The module has to be flashed before it will work. But if it’s working at all, it will have a blinking light once all hooked up.

It started once, and then wouldn’t start again. I reflashed and followed the instructions to a T. When I go to remote start, the lights flash like yours, and I hear what I think is the fuel pump kicking on, but not starting. I’ll reach out to fortin tomorrow because I’m at my wits end 😅

Hey I just brought this unit. The only issue I’m having is my gps is not working unless it’s connected to my phone. Are you having this issue. I moved the gps antenna towards the dash/window more! Where did you position yours?

I actually didn’t hook up the gps on this as I knew I would only be using my phone with Apple CarPlay for GPS.

@@millerspowerhouse Gotcha, I ended up hooking it up cause if I don't have my phone I want the gps to work still or if I have a family member drive it. But after hooking it up, It works just fine. So that issue is resolved. Also I downloaded the whole state map for offline use and tested it out, GPS works great

With this upgrade do you still have access to the USB port in the center console? I seen a different video where a guy replaced his radio and the company sent him a board to replace in the USB port so it would still work. I have a 2015 tradesman but I imagine it should work the same as yours. Thank you

Yes the usb port seems to still work. I don’t really use mine for anything other than charging my phone, which still works. And when I plug my phone in the screen recognizes that.

How are the speakers ive heard that the output on the unit make the speakers sound aweful is that true? Or does it sound like factory?

Speakers sound great actually. The bass is good. My truck has the alpine factory stereo and speakers and I have no complaints with sound quality at all.

Any updates after using this for a while? One complaint I read was the built in mic was trash and wondered if you found that to be the case.

Yes the mic sounds like you are under water, I’d recommend the plug in mic it comes with. Temperature for climate control does not read in Fahrenheit either, just “low” and “high” which makes setting the temp you want difficult. Other than that it works very well for the money.

Not bad to do at all if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. I will say you must use OEM for this part, otherwise the check engine light may still remain on. The OEM part is around $300 or so.
