The first friend I made on the first day of the first grade was Woody Lockler. He is still my friend along with his 1st cousin David Lowry who's family moved to Eagle Springs in the 4th grade. Woody's older brother Darvil was a great athlete and was also like an older brother to me. Woody's folks called him Junior as he was named after his dad. I only saw Woody's dad once in my whole life, it seems like if a Lumbee person doesn't want to see them you won't but it doesn't mean their not there. This ability must have made Lumbee Warriors very successful. Woody's older brother Darvil Was a great football player and would have became a legend of the game. An accident during a game in high school ended his football playing days. He was killed in an automobile accident 1 mile from his parent's house, to this day I miss him also had a good long cry over his loss. I haven't seen Woody or David in many years but they will always be in my heart.

I remember Hazel very 🎉well ,I was eight years old . It hit out coastal hometown of Rehoboth Brach and up toward Wilmington Delaware . The devastation was profound , but not near as bad as the March ‘62 that hit us full force …

One convict mentioned executing the wrong person. Yes it has happened before but given there are now 16 levels of appeal (not including third parties eg drug companies) and can take 20+ years, the wrong person should not be going to the chamber - ever!

THANK YOU WRAL , ALL of you who put yourself in harms way to keep me apprized at whats was going on where my 11 y/o son was at the time of Florence! He was right there off of freedom way in Hubert . I was 180 miles away unfortunately, i was able to find his father and my son the very last hotel with power, only AFTER his father decided it was too dangerous for them where they were. At 3am ! I was so upset at his decisions, however, my son came away from all of this unscaved thank God and y'all kept me updated on where the flood waters were, and everything else that a mom needed yo know as she was almost 200 miles away. So thank you 🙏❤️

I lost my best friend to a drug overdose losing her still hurts when I think about it my chest tightens. I love her but she made that choice not the person that sold her the d0pe n I'll never agree with charging the "dealer" for someone choosing to use drugs. An addict is not gonna stop until they get what they want. Thw government is the ones allowing the stuff to come in so using the "dealer" as a scapegoat is disgusting!

Cut it by a whole year huh. Ridiculous. Took 2 years tops in the 40s and 50s. No changes to the Constitution, as far as crime and punishment, since. Why did it go from a few years to maybe 20 or 30? Absolutely ridiculous

At least by then the national weather service wasn't saying there was no hurricane, despite scientific evidence, as with 1938 New England and 1900 Galveston. Sad they lost their excellent meteorologist and hurricane tracker Grady Horton. When you are dealing with a hurricane, it is the people who make all the difference. Does anyone listen or is it business as usual?

The Camp Lejeune Marine Corps/ Navy military base, is perhaps the most well- known, widespread, and long- running water contamination case in North Carolina... But, apparently this is a huge problem both on military bases and in the civilian arena - and, in many states. This is outrageous and shameful - that the government more often than not, covers up, downplays, and ignores such things. Who knows how many are affected? It has been up to a few activists and lawyers, and some victims themselves, to make legislative changes and initiate litigation.

I was at home with my mom and older brother. We were 4 and 8 years old and living in a new development in Toronto. Dad was in hospital having surgery. As we looked out our front window it was dark way too early that day. Our neighboring community of Weston was older and hit hard. Interesting note that the nickname of Huricane Hazel was to become the way folks referred Hazel who was, many years later, mayor of Mississauga, Ontario just outside of Toronto. She was a feisty opponent and passed away in her 90s still involved in local politics

Yea, from what I observe, being 70 plus, is that these drugs are more powerful than any will power we can conjure up. They replace our very own personalities. It’s so weird, today, because anyone can make a mistake by doing it just once and die from it.

It's a complete shame that our honorable law enforcement society is fighting a non-winable fight to get this crap off our streets! Drugs, obviously, make to much $ for the scumbags who are really in power. In our great USA and in Europe. The Rothschild's and few other billionaires will and have over the centuries, eventually answer to a much higher power than themselves.

3:25 - Beach is cleaner because you don't have to worry about bacteria count. LOL. The causes of the bacteria warnings at beaches are due to rain events that cause the wastewater treatment plant to overflow, and unprocessed sewage overflows into the body of water that it discharges into. This happens everywhere there is a WWTP, a rain event, and currents that push the discharge toward the beach. I love how all of these coastal communities blame climate change when it is their own activities that are causing the problems. When the storms such as 1962 dump a 5-foot layer of sand across the island it is how the islands were formed in the first place. Then, they remove all of that sand and later wonder where the sand all went!!! Insanity and denial.

My only issue with the rationale of pp being executed within 2 years is the fact that there have been 100's of pp on death row or doing life who've been exonerated. Particularly PEOPLE OF COLOR. And there will be 100's more in yrs to come.

1:02:00 Mr Ford would be torn up if he'd convicted an innocent man, but he hasn't lost a minute's sleep over it, despite presumably knowing that the police had withheld evidence and with himself personally offering a deal to a jailhouse snitch. Some people have no conception of integrity

Our judicial system is set up in such a way that it is very hard to convict innocent people it does happen. If you've ever seen the movie A beautiful mind with Russell Crowe then you're familiar with John Nash who came up with the Nash equations. Nash love to make things into a game where you would have four potential outcomes our judicial system is a perfect model to explain this. Four possible outcomes guilty guilty, guilty innocent, innocent innocent, innocent guilty. Again our judicial system is set up in such a way that is highly unlikely that you have someone that is innocent but found guilty in order for that to be statistically possible it is also true that it is more likely that you will have someone that is guilty but found innocent. Is a very interesting subject but as a proponent of the death penalty in extreme cases I find this very reassuring. TLDR our judicial system is in some ways based on statistics and while the goal is to lock up all guilty people and make sure all innocent people are set free unfortunately to ensure that we do not lock up or execute those that are not guilty we inevitably release guilty people.
