Watching this, I felt such a mix of emotions-I started welling up, and by the end, I had tears streaming down my face. The beauty standards in the entertainment industry have always been brutal, and they’re even harsher for women and even harsher for women of color. I still can’t believe this is my first time witnessing this incredible duet! You can hear a bit of nervousness in Kim’s voice, but when the beat kicks in around the 2-minute mark, it’s pure magic. What a powerful and unforgettable moment. Seeing recent photos of Kim compared to this moment just breaks my heart, knowing how those impossible standards might have played a role in shaping her insecurities and decisions. It’s a painful reminder of how unforgiving the industry can be. *Dear Women and Girls* You are all queens, no matter your appearance, background, or circumstances. You are goddesses, the very essence of strength, beauty, and resilience, bringing life, love, and hope into this world. Not only that, but you deserve to be revered, celebrated, and elevated for all that you are and all that you contribute. As a gay man with three incredible sisters whom I adore, I have witnessed firsthand the power, grace, and unyielding strength that women embody. You inspire me, and I hold the entirety of womanhood in the highest regard and then some! She is a classy woman. I think it’s great that she can still stay true to herself with fashion and hair and not subjected herself to plastic surgery. Talk about aging gracefully.
