Paging all Faith No More fans... Yeah, I remember this when I was 10 or so. Now it sounds like a Pet Shop Boys/Wang Chung hybrid. Some heavy Korg and Roland Juno going on.

Was born in 89 and miss the 90s but no disrespect at all to New Yorkers but I still wouldn't want to have lived there then let alone now just no peace and quiet me personally im good. Please don't think I was disrespectful to New Yorkers because I would love to visit one day just not live.

You have a point. I lived there for five years and I can assure you, it will wear you down. You have to be tough to live in New York. It was a right of passage to me. After living there, you're just about prepared for anything.

@@ChristopherPraytor Oh sure. When I traveled home to visit, it would take me 2-3 days to unwind. New York is an very intense place. It's mentally and physically invigorating, but over time it can wear on you, if you're not from NYC.

I was born and raised in NYC and I am not offended by ur comments but I will say that they are not accurate. I lived in Kansas for a spell in the late 80s and early 90s, I've lived in the Appalachian mountains from 2000-2010 and I have lived in coastal beach communities and couldn't wait to come back to my home town. During each of my departures I was looking for a better life and ended up returning. I have traveled most of the world also and every place has its ups and downs but for me, NYC can't be beaten. If you couldn't find a place to escape the pressure from the daily grind, then you simply weren't looking in the right places. Either way, better for me to have the popular belief of here to be like urs are because if everyone knew the real NYC, there wouldn't be enough room for people like me lmao 😂😂! Good luck with osh kosh Oklahoma or wherever you are tho 😉😉

Breathtakingly handsome. Thank you for the cool backstory. I fondly remember the ad and the delicious candy. But I came here because I thought another commercial some 25 years later took some influence from this one, the whacky Dr. Carver's "Buttery Dunes" commercial for shaving cream. The dream sequence background art has a very similar aesthetic.

I grew up in Brooklyn, next door. That guy’s a nut in the middle of the street. But ‘SBARRO’ was MY favorite eatery-maybe along with ‘Arthur Treature’s Fish and Chips’. Yeah, that’s the Times Square that I remember! But it was a little raunchier even just a decade earlier.

@ Back in 1969, my little brother and I were deposited at a theater by my dad in Times Square on a Saturday afternoon, and our instructions were to watch a movie ( ‘The Reivers’ starring Steve McQueen )until he came back for us after work. Next door was playing ‘ Night of The Living Dead ‘, which I wanted to see but was not allowed. After the film, my brother and I drifted out of the theater, and I was gawking at the electronics in a store window whereupon I found myself surrounded by several ‘toughs’ who went through my pockets and then made me jump up and down to see if they could hear any change jingling. We were 10 and 11 years old then.

I was looking at another video about "forgotten vintage candy bars" when all of a sudden they played two seconds of this video and I came right over here. I was 19 in 86 and life as an adult was just beginning. This commercial wasn't like the others... the music and images stayed with you like a beautiful dream that you didn't want to end. Who would have thought back then that someone would be diabolical enough to create Fox News and actually successfully DISTORT REALITY? Now no one trust actual news stations and it is really a depressing state of affairs. I am a old man now and it is good to escape these crazy times with beautiful memories such as this one.... thank you for posting this.
