You can play any cello and make it sound like a million dollars due to your talent but I think the second cello sounds the best 🎻🎻

Hello dear Mrs Law, I'm a "Classical Tenor Singer-Violist-Panflutist", and next month I'm going to travel with my Viola, this time it is a Concert-Programm: "Voice and Viola", this time "not with the Panflute. The Concert is in the Nothern Part of "Brandenburg State", the neighbour State of "Berlin 🇪🇺🇩🇪", 1 hour and a half away from Berlin. The Flight is with a small Aeroplane-Type, an "ATR 42-300-TYP", a "Turbopropp Aeroplane",from my hometown,which is a middle size European- German City-Size, 160 000 inhabitans, and the Aéroport is a small one, so the landing strip and Aeroplane so actually "very small ", but a Boeing 737-800, or Airbus A320 can take off and landing there at my hometownAéroport,but not bigger. The Aeroplane is with "only" either one Stewardess, or one Steward. I called the Airline, it is neither "Lufthansa",nor Star Alliance- Partner, like by you guys in the US 🇺🇲: "United Airlines ", it is a "Danish Regional Airline" called:"DAT, Danish Air Transport ",but actually it is "Air Lithuania 🇪🇺🇱🇹", cause from my hometown, which is called "Saarbrücken", it is "Lithuanian Flight Staff Employées ", Lufthansa is not interessted in Saarbrücken Aéroport, probably waaay too Provincial, 🤷🛩=🚜, the Aeroplane is like a cute Tracteur in Farming, my homestate is to compare like by you guys in the 🇺🇲 like:"West Virginia ", the smallest State of the German States, called: " Saarland "🤷, so big like the size of Berlin, but "only" 980 000 imhabitants, and it is a "EU Problem ", that many Companies are taking " Low Cost Stuff", which is very awful ‼️‼️‼️ but since most "Eastern European Countries " are in the EU 🇪🇺, many "financial Countries " are taking them, because they are "cheaper " than the "West Collègues", it is very awful by us in the EU 🇪🇺‼️🤢🤢🤢 I called the Airline DAT at my hometown Aéroport, they said the size of my "Viola Case "should be ok for the "Overhead Compartments ",it is a "Form-Etui-Case", because the "Violonists-Collègues", and we "Violists", or Collègues,who are Saxophonists, Bassonplayers, Hornists, and other Instrument Collègues in that size,we cannot seat bellted the Instrument like you ",Cellists Collègues", like "tough seat bellted fixinating", because of "might break up take off", or "Landing rough", or of Turbulenzen, it can throw away in the Cabin, which would be awful!!! 😬🙏‼️ So of my hometown Aéroport I'm not so much concerned! "BUT" the "Homeflight, Backflight From Berlin-Saarbrücken "😬😬😬, quite nervous who is working on that day at the Ticket Desk, how is the mude of the Employé, and does she or he know, how the Aeroplane is constructed, so that it is "not a Problem" putting it in the "Overheads" 🙄🙏🙏🙏🙏😬🍀🍀🍀, so I deeply hope it is going to work out fine 🙏‼️‼️‼️🍀🍀🍀 Certainly putting the Instrument in the "Main Trunk", which is located in the front of this Aeroplane-Type,in the direction to the Cockpit, it is a "NO GO ‼️‼️‼️" So it would be so very kind of you "crossing Fingers" for me 🍀🍀🍀🙏🧡 Dear Mrs Law, I apreciate your kind "Mini-Video-Trailer" 🧡🙏✈️,in my case à la 🚜=🛩 =🎻 🍀🍀🍀😬🙏. I also have to say: " you play soooo beautiful ‼️"🎶 🎻= à la Cello for you, I wish you all the best 🍀🍀🍀🧡🎶🎻 Kind regards from a "Classical Tenor Singer-Violist-Panflutist Collègue" ,from 🇪🇺🇩🇪 from South Black Forest Region, direct to Border 🇪🇺🇲🇫 and 20 Min away from 🇨🇭 Basel, Yours, Josha 🙋

I think as a cellist, other factors come into play. First obviously is the cellist. I bet the late Rostropovich or Casals for example could have made the 5000 cello sing like a million dollars. Second, are you using the same strings across all three. Third, the sound of the cello up close in a studio is very different than in a concert hall. How would it sound then? And each cello has its distinct character which has to match the playing style of the cellist. Anyways my two cents. Beautifully done on all three, thank you.

Er... Carbon fiber's pretty strong. If anything's broken, it's the wood bridge or soundpost. Also, Singapore Airlines... Their reputation precedes them.

$5,000: ouch $180,000: Much richer tone and better overtones $1,000,000: Richer still, but with more clarity as well. Astonishing.

In the first violoncello may be there is too much cotton into the harmonic wooden box and the strings are made of plastic. For me all three cellos sound great!😂

First things first, you play brilliantly. You increase the value of each exponentially in any way you cut it. The biggest difference that I could tell as you stepped up dollar wise was on the lower end of the registry of each it got just cleaner and clearer as you stepped up in quality. There was no significant difference between any on the higher end and middle part of the registry. I could lay back close my eyes and enjoy listening to you any time.

I started playing when I was 6 but by the time I left high school, my body said no more. I have a rare genetic condition and have had 18 surgeries, including a finger fusion and 3 shoulder reconstructions. I miss it. But every so often, it's nice to open the case and smell that wonderful scent and reminisce. 😊

How much did the bow that you were using cost and did you use the same bow on all three instruments?
@plantbro19643 күн бұрын
they all three sounded nice on their own but to me the hundred and $180,000 instrument had a lot sweeter sound and individual notes then did the $5000 one the million dollar cello seem to have a lot more complexity and always compared to the hundred and $80,000 one especially when you buy the million dollar cello they give you a slave to carry the cello for you and he doesn’t mind living in a shack with you because you can’t afford a house because of them paying off the dollar cello

I can hear the difference between the $180k and the $5k cello. However, IF I could play the cello and IF I had a million bucks handy, I don't think I would be buying the million $ cello. I suppose if I were making a good living playing the cello, the $180k would do just fine, since I can hear little difference between the two more expensive instruments. There's a lot of fun to had with the $820k left over! Cheers, jc

I sorta wish this had been a blind pick.🙈I’m mad that I chose the most expensive Cello as my most favorite of the three. Although…with this particular musical selection you played (& quite beautifully, I might add🥰), I’d almost would liked to have chosen all three to perform in different parts of the piece! Like, in certain parts, I actually felt that Cello 1 & 2 would have assisted in the piece sounding better! Places where I wanted to hear a brighter tone of Ceelo due to my fav all around sounding Ceelo, #3, sounded almost TO full and round! A bit TOO throaty sounding! But, if I had to choose 1 favorite of the three, I would definitely have to choose Cello #3 as my choice for favorite sounding Cello.😍

On their own, they all sound good. However side by side $5k cello is rather thin and lacks clarity although has good low end. $180k is very vibrant and is definitely the best sounding of the 3 and is very "live" with balanced tone. The $1m is very balanced . It is less "live" than 180k, and sometimes it is a good thing, but in the given sample, 180k cello appears to me the best sounding.

It was a very interesting video. But one thing did stand out about the "$5000.00 Cello. Its voice wasn't as clear nor as robust as the other 2. The middle cello had a richer and warmer voice, and the million dollar instrument had a warmer tone to it than the other 2. But most important of all, the way that the music sounded has nothing to do with the instruments at all. At least not directly. Firstly, your playing is technically beautiful and well established. But this is J.S. Bach here. This composition is supposed to be played with deliberation. Your playing felt like you were in some kind of a music race. Don't get me wrong. The playing was beautiful and very well done. But what caught my attention about the differences between all three instruments as I stated, is you. You are the difference that made the musicality of the instruments sound so different, but the same. You tried to do the piece exactly the same between all three of the cellos. You succeeded, but you failed as well. As I watched you play and you changed from one instrument to the next, I saw something that none of the other viewers commented or noted. And this is what I saw. As you switched from one instrument to another, your whole demeanor and attitude to your playing also changed. Not many people would notice it, but I did. The way you handled the more expensive cellos is directly reflected in your playing. You became more attuned and more deliberate with your playing. Although your cadence and tambour with your playing remained overall consistent, how you played and how you touched each instrument changed. Your style grew more deliberate and focused as you switched from the cheapest to the most expensive. Your whole attitude changed and was reflected in how you felt about each different cello. This is natural. You played differently because your idea and perception of value for each instrument was different. Let me explain. The way you played the "$5000.00 Cello" was beautifully done. But it wasn't anywhere near as measured nor as deliberate as it was in the other 2 instruments. But when you switched from the "$`180,000.00 Cello to the Million Dollar Cello, your attitude changed and became totally focused on the way you were handling the instrument. You became so much more deliberate, measured, but most important of all, careful with how you were playing. It is as if you were trying to avoid disrespecting the cello. This was not the case with the $5000.00 cello. As a result I heard a few more mistakes. But I also heard more wolf-notes creeping into the playing. You did a masterful job at quelling and stopping the wolf-notes. But they still found their way in. I noticed a few wolf-notes in the other 2 cellos as well. But they weren't as pronounced nor as noticeable as they were in the $5000.00 cello. But the underlying reason the other 2 instruments sounded so much better, is that they had time on their side. The cellos have been around for much longer than the "$5000.00 Cello." As wood ages and matures, its overall characteristics changes and matures with it. The fibers respond in predictable ways when a well cared for instrument is played. The newer and less costly instruments are still maturing. Even though the wood is seasoned, the fibers are still young and haven't settled into their final density that makes their voice sound richer as in the old instruments. Given enough time, if the "$5000.000 instrument" survives the test of time, it too will mature and will sound just as beautiful as its more expensive and mature kin. Very nice demonstration. Slow your tempo down a bit and control your tambour when playing this piece of music. It's not a race and is not intended to be played so fast. I don't know why so many cellists feel that they have to get through the Prelude Movement so fast. But that isn't how the Master, J.S. Bach intended it to be played.
