Poor posture is something people can get away with in the beginning, but then it evolves into bad habits that end up physically hurting your body in the long run. When your body hurts, your music, your art suffers. Thanks for sharing this! You play the cello so beautifully, and by teaching others is really a blessing to us all!

I am a 43 year old professional artist who never played an instrument of any kind until two years ago when I had a reoccurring dream about the cello. In the dream I knew how to play the cello very well. The last time I had the dream (I think it was the fifth time) I woke up and I had a text message from a high school friend who knew I was an avid antique collector. He had an antique cello he thought I might like! Obviously, after having the same weird dream over and over where I played the cello on a stage wearing a derby hat for some reason, I had to purchase it! Turned out it wasn’t all that old, but it was still absolutely beautiful and I loved it! I finally had a chance to try this beautiful instrument i so freely played in my dreams. It was surreal. It was like I had played it before. I became obsessed. It’s been about two years now and I have played everyday without miss up until last month when it was involved in an accident with me where it broke right in half at the base of the neck. So now I’m saving for a new one and hope to be behind the strings again in a few months. I have always enjoyed your videos and you continue to inspire me with your talent. Thank you. I am very interested in your classes and I’d like to know more about them. Again thank you! Take care!

Hi Wendy, I am a professional cellist and have been teaching violin, viola, and cello for 33 years. Recently, I began teaching string bass as well. I am excited to take your course in order to benefit myself and my students. I played incorrectly/with too much tension for many years. 10 years ago I developed carpal tunnel inflammation on both hands and thoracic outlet syndrome on the left side. As a result I was unable to play for 18 months. I lost a whole symphony season! To recover, I had surgery to release both carpal tunnels and was able to use physical therapy, yoga and weekly massages to assist me. I learned how to listen to my body and how to play with more ease and how to practice more efficiently. I’m still learning and still performing. I look forward to learning more and having ideas to use in my studio that will help my students. I am sure the knowledge you are sharing will “fill in the gaps” in my own self discovery. Thank you for offering this course.

I might actually consider getting this course. Not really interested in becoming a working professional cellist - don't even want to be a working professional violinist either - as I don't want to be a music for my career but I love music and I've been a musician for a hot minute. I've been playing violin (my main instrument) for about 10 years and viola and cello for about 5 (yes, I play all three and could play double-bass too, if only I actually had one). My cello playing is decent all things considered, but that's probably because I use a lot of my violin playing intuition and used videos to help me along the way as well, and praying as well. I might be helpful to me as an amateur classical composer as being able to play the string instruments is very helpful for me as I mostly make string instrumental music and I need to play them to make sure I get the sound I want to get.
