5:47 This one is extremely simple to explain; if Kris went in, Susie may not have followed, instead forcing Kris to get the chalk, and that would result in the prophecy being entirely altered.
@GameJam2309 күн бұрын
5:46 The darkners never directly imply they’ve actually MET the Knight to my knowledge. Even Queen depicted the moment their world was created as a giant hand piercing the ground with a blade. We also know it’s entirely possible for characters to simply hide their appearance in dark worlds, like Ralsei in chapter 1, or Noelle’s “robot face”. Even further than that, dark worlds are created with the will of the lightner who constructs it, so if Kris’ will constructed the fountain, they may have influenced the decisions of darkners like King and Queen without ever even needing to speak to them, as that will would be ingrained into their very beings. When King sees Kris again, they aren’t the Knight because they don’t manifest in the dark world as a form that reflects the will they created it with, but instead as a form that reflects OUR presence in Kris, and our soul contains the “light” that will seal their fountain, making Kris the “lightbringer”
@GameJam2309 күн бұрын
5:15 He doesn’t say the Knight did that, he says “a strange someone”. If the Knight was seemingly some legendary hero to darkners that wanted them to keep their fountain and create more darkness, why would everyone refer to the individual by identifying how abnormal they are? And going by the line about garbage noise on the other end of the phone in chapter 2, it’s quite likely that this “strange someone” is Gaster, and that the intently of the Knight is distinct from that of him.
@GameJam2309 күн бұрын
This is going to be a long comment, but take a read if you’d like to hear a really compelling argument for Kris being the Knight, Noelle being the Angel, and why that all comes together to form a REALLY compelling connection to the themes presented by Deltarune so far. This also gives an explanation for the “one ending” and the literal meaning of “delta rune”. I think Kris being the Knight the most NARRATIVELY satisfying character. They’re unhappy with the life set forth for them and reject the premise that nobody can choose they are in this world. So, in order to attempt to GAIN the power of choice, they create a NEW world, one where choices DO matter. This fits in line with the idea of Light and Hope/Determination being parallels while Dark and Dreams/Fantasy are paired (just take a look at the text of the prophecy and the lyrics to Don’t Forget, which directly pairs these each together several times, as well as the first SAVE point mentioning the light only you can see, and power “shining” within you, etc.), after all. The more light you have, the more determined you are, the more dark you have, the more you are bound to the rules of the world you are placed within. Darkners do not choose their role within their worlds, and it goes to say that Kris cannot choose their place within the light world. The introduction of US is what changes things though, and is why Gaster connected with us, and looks forward to creating a new world with us. See, while Kris cannot choose their choose who they are in the dark world, and those effects ripple into the light world by having the adventures change those who are associated, like turning Susie from a violent bully into a friend, or making Noelle “stronger” to stand up to others, or Berdly less of a jerk. But, Kris WOULDN’T be able to do these things OUTSIDE the dark worlds. Kris still had a set role in the game that is Deltarune, and that role cannot be changed when Kris is in a place with as much “light” as them. And that’s why WE are important. We have more light than ANYONE else because we are the player, we come from a realm even HIGHER than them. To us, they are residents of a dark world, and our light shines bright enough to change their world in ways they could not. Consider that the name Delta Rune almost literally can be translated to “Change in what is set in stone”, or “Changing the unchangeable”, due to how the Greek letter delta is used in physics and how runes usually refer to ancient glyphs carved into stone. The entire purpose is to convince us that the story only has one ending so that we stop looking at it like Flowey did to Undertale- a game with predictable results for every set of actions. The goal is to convince us that it’s more than that. That despite our actions leading to the same outcome, the more important part has always been how we got there. But to them? The characters in the game? I doubt they see it that way. If getting lost in the dark is to that of becoming immersed in the story, and shining too brightly is to trying to force the story to change to YOUR will, then things will go VERY differently if you stick to the intended path versus experimenting with everything you can. And all of this, all of this purpose Toby is seemingly conveying with light and dark and hopes and dreams and reality and fiction all blend together to clearly demonstrate that the one character who demonstrates the need to improve their situation over everyone else is none other than Kris Dreemurr. But, despite being the Knight, they are NOT the Angel, the one destined to end the prophecy with the creation of a fountain with so much will, it brings forth the roaring. This person is the one who has been getting pushed closer and closer to the edge, and somebody who we have seen possess a LOT of power when finally pushed off of it. Somebody who wants to find her lost sister, who may lost her father, who may feel unloved by her mother, may be rejected by her crush, and is suddenly told that she can get everything she wants by simply opening a dark fountain, and then another, and then another… somebody like Noelle, who’s fountain will contain so much will injected into it that Kris may not be enough to close it without the power of OUR light. This is the reason why the game always had one ending, and why WE were needed to change it. Without our light, there is no power that can stop the roaring, and banish the Angel’s Heaven.

As evident to the secret bosses that being we control Kris while Gaster controls the secret bosses, Jevil's mind being warped and Spamton literally being on strings. Current tier list of Knight theories on my list: S tier: Kris is the knight Ridiculous amount of plausible evidence, and I believe this one wholeheartedly A tier: Gaster is the knight Also VERY likely, though the one piece that keeps it a theory for me is the fact that he isn't doing this how he usually does... Why would he just... make the dark fountains? Why not trick someone else into doing it for him? He already seems like a "Control others" type, with Spamton (Garbage noise evidence) and Jevil ("My view of the world has become darker yet darker" - Seam evidence) Perhaps even... tricking Kris into doing it? B tier Papyrus is the knight ...Rising in credibility surprisingly fast. I'm going to make a stringboard of it and put it on reddit some day maybe lol Basically, Gaster could also control PAPYRUS into doing it Trashy is mentioned in Undertale as a lazy bag of trash that Papyrus lives with ...And iirc, is also the trash can in Chapter 2. He CONTINUES the trend of "Main villain of the chapter actually being mislead and thinking they're doing the right thing" ("To my people, I'm a hero. To you? I'm the bad guy", "I Was Just Following The Example Of The Knight Lol") Papyrus said in an interview "Wait, I'M THE VILLAIN?" which is low evidence but it's almost foreshadowing and I feel like it shouldn't be... The other interview that's Papyrus... And questions to Papyrus SPECIFICALLY... (Why Papyrus...? If you're avoiding every question being to Sans, why not Alphys? If you want questions for Papyrus, why not Undyne...?) Oh, and the *biggest* piece of evidence? *Bonetrousle was going to be Deltarune's main battle theme.* ... MAIN BATTLE THEME. For a man who loves his Leitmotifs. I hate that this theory has so much evidence towards it being true C tier: Dess knight Idk, it has some interesting evidence and motive, like the others... EVERYONE Knight Fountains being opened by different people to make ONE big mistake feels very Persona, and we know Toby Fox plays Persona due to his Carpet memery. Not impossible. Perhaps even more likely than Dess Knight, just less fun ??? Knight A character we haven't met yet. Plausible, and fun, but also... it makes sense, considering it doesn't matter who the knigth is. If Kris ISN'T the Knight, there are so many more QUESTIONS. If they are, we STILL have a lot of questions, like WHY? D tier: All others that I can't think of don't seem viable to me atm but I could be wrong ig lol

I don't think G_ster is the knight. I think he's the "Angel" He's not literally the guy who created Deltarune's world nor Undertale's. G_ster is literally just the devil. A fallen angel, if you will. Meaning the ""Angel"" is either the player behind the screen.... or it's Toby himself.

@@TheSkyGuy77 It's simple, Spamton. The legend says to banish the angel from paradise, and Spamton says he wants our soul in order to reach paradise, except the soul is literally the player (we know this bc of the goner maker scene). So the angel is the player, Gaster is much more likely to be the devil, in the code of deltarune and UNDERTALE, Gaster's stats are only 6666, and he is linked to 6 everywhere which is the devil symbol

"Why gaster is The Knight?" *Whole video about prooving that Gaster in the Deltarune*
@Arial5555518 күн бұрын
Sadly, none of the evidence in this video proves Gaster is the Knight- just that he's involved in the plot somehow. Furthermore, the evidence that is most damning to the possibility of Gaster being the Knight is Seam's dialouge. Seam acknowleges he had seen The Knight when they corrupted King, but still refers to the person who corrupted Jevil as a mysterious stranger (again, someone he likely saw). It would be extreemly odd for Seam to mention having observed The Knight, but then proceed to call the person who corrupted his best friend a "Mysterious Stranger"- he would've said "The Knight that corrupted the King also returned to corrupt Jevil", or something similar if that were the case. But instead, he implies that he didn't know the stranger who Jevil met by any identity. Meanwhile, we essentially know for a fact that Gaster was the one who corrupted the secret bosses because the Addisons mention "Garbage Noise" coming from Spamton's phone, which is identical to the description of the noise coming from Kris' phone in the Dark World- which as pointed out in this video, is heavilly Gaster-associated. So, if Seam insisted that the secret bosses were corrupted by a "Mysterious Stranger" and not The Knight, and the Mysterious Stranger is basically confirmed to be Gaster, then The Knight cannot be the Gaster. Well, unless there are two Gasters (one from Deltarune and one from Undertale, with the main evidence being the song name "Another Him")- but even then, they'd probably look identical enough that Seam would probably mistake them for the same person, thus ruining the theory once more.
@StarLightShadows16 күн бұрын
The most interesting a cool thing about what Seam says is that it fits perfectly with a very specific idea that I've believed since Chapter 2 released, namely that The Knight is not directly Gaster, but rather that The Knight is someone (specifically Soulless Kris) being _mind-controlled_ by Gaster. Seam refers to Gaster as "A strange someone" and The Knight as "A strange Knight." He refers to them differently but with the same descriptor. Suggesting that he noticed similar behavior between the two despite seeming at first glance like different people, because the latter is being controlled by the former.

I like the video, but none of this really shows that Gaster is the Knight; just that he's involved with the Dark Worlds in some capacity. Let me ask you something; if Gaster is the Knight, the one opening the fountains, why enable the one person capable of sealing them? Assuming he is in fact the narrator at the beginning of the game, it doesn't make sense for him to bring the red soul in when it's the only thing capable of undoing all of his work. You could argue that he didn't intend for Kris to obtain our soul, but I don't think Gaster, a scientist, would take the risk of unleashing our soul in any capacity if it's the one thing capable of stopping his plan. Alternatively, if he did account for Kris sealing the fountains, you could argue that he's performing an experiment. However, that would mean that his goal is not the Roaring. At the very least, I don't see how Gaster could be working towards the Roaring when he's also partially responsible for hindering it. Sure, this doesn't necessarily prove that he can't be the Knight, but that would mean that the Roaring Knight isn't actually trying to cause the Roaring (note that Queen refers to them as such despite not knowing what the Roaring is yet, so she must've heard the title from somewhere else). Make of that what you will.
@drdca826319 күн бұрын
9:33 into the video, and lots of stuff about why Gaster is almost surely playing some role in Deltarune, but so far talking about what we know about the Roaring Knight. I guess if your idea is “Gaster caused the dark fountains, and the roaring knight created the dark fountains, therefore they are the same”, then, there’s something to that, but like… Idk, what about all the other things the roaring knight supposedly did, like deposing the other 3 kings?

I don't see why any of this proves that Gaster is the knight, just that Gaster is connected to the dark world. Personally I think that Gaster isn't the knight, but that they created the Knight. Gaster just approached them one day, gave them a bunch of forbidden knowledge like Jevil and Spamton, and taught them how to make dark fountains. As for who the knight actually is, I'm pretty convinced that it's Kris, but that's a whole giant argument that I'm not going to get into here (though I'm willing to explain more in the replies if anyone wants).

I get what you are saying, but the biggest problem with your theory is that you basically just recreated the "Third entity" theory, which brings with it the wost possible thing it can do to a game/series: If the theory was true, it would make for a worst story. The story with the soul and Kris is interasting because it deconstructs the relationship between a Player and the silent protagonist that we play as, and THAT is something very interasting that noone has ever done before. But if third entity was true, that muddles things up. when there is just the Player and Kris, there is a clear separation between what is the Player and their actions and Kris and their actions, but with a third entity, how can we know? Which part is the Player, which part is Kris and which is the third entity? I am not saying that this scenario coudn't make a good story, I am saying that with the foundation that Toby Fox laid out, the story going in that direction would be to its detriment

Little theory here. I noticed that in entry 17 he addresses two other people in the room, making three, with him, and the others. In the starting character creation sequence, there is also three people if the different text is indeed a different character. My guess is that the other person in the starting sequence is one of the two people he addressed in the entry, with the other being us. Another thing I noticed, (and I could be wrong, or this has no real meaning) it seems each of the three impact different roles in the story. We represent the protagonist, the knight (which I believe is the second person) represents the antagonists, and Gaster, (if he is the one affecting the secret bosses) represents the side characters, or everything else. This theory has a lot of “ifs” so I wouldn’t be surprised if this is easily debunked, but it’s still interesting to think about nonetheless.
