True. One advantage of this solution, however, is that you can learn to select those verteces so you can delete them, move them, or even detach them to another object. You also become more familiar with more tools instead of pressing one button.

I've been watching Arrimus 3D's vids from the beginning. It seemed to me that in order to get a final production model he used TurboSmooth with manually added loops on the basic mesh to get perfect smoothness on edges, but in the last bunch of vids it seems that he's cool with CreaseSet + OpenSubdiv for the final model. I've realized that with the latters you also need to add some loops to better control the smoothing on creases. Would be CreaseSet + OpenSubdiv a more convenient option over TurboSmooth then?

I wonder how he modeled the text for the 3d printed model since you then can't just use a normal map. It have to be geometry.

@@illia.m But how? If you do Text in CAD software, it's fine but not until you render it and it shows the bad topology. Or he afterwards used the textures in the displacement modifier but then have to increase the polygon count immense.

@@MrGTAmodsgerman Just clean the text to 3D a little bit and it could be kept as is. No need to merge the two object for a succesful 3D print, it just needs enough overlap.

I am going to guess that the reason you do not give out your real name, and instead, hide behind Arrimus 3D, is that you probably did something bad in your life that you feel ashamed about. This is the usual explanation for someone suddenly developing a fear of God. I hope you find peace within yourself, and continue on your 3D path. I would hate to see a big swath of your subscribers suddenly leave, on account of you losing your marbles. You do not need religion dude... trust me. It will be more damaging to you than you can imagine. Just take a deep breath and forgive yourself. I know that you are an intelligent man that is more reasonable than the credulous folks who believe in fairytales.

Hi Arrimus. How did you do the pipe at 11:34? I remember seeing you mention in another video that it had a name but I'm not sure if that's what you did here. A command that finds a middle point between two points/edges and adjusts your selection to that.

Anyone that want's to play with these demonstrated functionality aspects, could do all of this shown in the free DSM Explorer version ( Parasolid). The free version allows for the creation of stls, objs but no blender bridge. Plasticity certainly has very dynamic adaptive fillets whereas DSM is more procedural in filleting and patterning routines. The Plasticity screen line/ curve model splitting can also be done in DSM by using the screen position sketching with a point position ( screen depth), plus a curve set extrude and object Intersection command. Plasticity is an increasingly impressive new software - but for anyone that can't afford the initial cost for what ever version they are considering buying and just want to make some stl parts or play a little and learn modelling, constraint or traditional based sketching with CAD, then there are other similar programs but no cost options to learn with. Plasticity's surfacing and curve continuity functionality is truly exceptional for the cost. There's a some DSM shorts around here on their blends and patches for ordinary surfacing but sculpting beautiful cars skins is a bit beyond DSM. Learning is fun right - all you readers are so lucky compared to 20 or 30 years ago. DSM, MOI, Rhino, Fusion360, Alibre Atom, FreeCAD and Plasticity all offer unbelievable functionality for the cost. We're all very lucky actually to be able to have such a cheap hobby.
