Im going to let my 7 year old play this game through on easy mode. Ocarina of Time will always be the unshakable greatest game of all time for me but Neir Automata SHOULD and WILL be many peoples GOAT and/or folks TOP TEN LISTS! This game is just brilliant. Thats it. Also, lovely video! Great work!

Happy to have found this channel, lots of videos on things I like on it. I do find it funny that you ask why they dont make a magic sword out of hope... when thats kinda what the sword of the end is.

I'm so glad to hear that! Welcome! I was probably enjoying the music too much and missed a few things. Are you referring to Noah's Ouroboros attack?
@Robottsie6 ай бұрын
@@questmarkers Yeah basically Noah's sword (its real name is sword of the end) they say something like it bends the wills in Origin so its like a collective frienship sword basically

The endings of XBC 1 & 2 weren't unwritten at all, and Alvis didn't misspeak - he just saw further into the future than we did. He was speaking about the worlds conjoining after the events of 3 (which is depicted in Future Redeemed's ending), and this is even reiterated, near word-for-word, by Nia in the final cutscene of 3's base game.
@linkalot74156 ай бұрын
interesting perspective. i dont think they had 3 in mind when they wrote the story of 1 and specifically that final scene, but that's a really awesome way of fixing what at first appears to be a plot hole/continuity error.

Great discussion! It’s always really cool to hear people talking about Nier! I also played the original much like Zack, but just played Replicant earlier this year. It felt great to revisit this world, but the repetition does bring it down a little. Kinda wish there was a chapter select option for Route C like in Automata but oh well! Still a very beautiful and unique game that is brought to life thanks to its cast and great story!
@questmarkers7 ай бұрын
Couldn’t agree more that the repetition brings it down, but that it flourishes in its story despite that. The dynamic between Nier, Weiss, Kainé, and Emil still carries some of my favourite moments in gaming!

Nice hearing you two together, you've got good synergy! I've actually only played two Sims games, one of the mobile ones and 4 But I ended up just getting caught up on the house building part of 4 (course I'd put in the money cheat code a gazillion times), and didn't mess with too much of the gameplay 😅

Your excitement talking about all those different games was a very fun listen😄. I liked how it was segmented, but feel maybe the shorter one's could go first since they weren''t as in depth as the other segments. Overall it was a great episode!!👍 Also kudos for playing RE7, I like 2 and 4, but 7 is too much and thanks for answering my questions🥸

"He's a slave to sentiment even after an eternity" is actually said on the moon by the actual Hythlodaeus (still within Zodiark), and not by the shade in Amaurot. Also more on the Emet section, I don't think this doubt was present only from when he saw us as Azem in the final fight, but he actually saw it the entire time during ShB (the shade of Hythlodaeus who is also made from the whims of his creator, tells the WoL that he must've noticed we were Azem), I would even go to the extent that his entire intention in Shadowbringers, his plan with the WoL (the path of lesser tragedy that he desires) was essentially to test us and if we succeeded he would finally give us his legacy and put himself to rest. Yet obviously that could've never happened, and it's contentious whether Emet would've let this happen, but the desire for this shines through all throughout ShB, the way he invites us to Amaurot even afterwards so we can see his legacy and so we might even be able to kill him (which he references in Elpis), or how he makes the soul crystal of Azem ahead of time which Hyth says he likely would've wanted us to have, and just the sheer amount of exhausting he lives with alone and nostalgic for a world that no longer is, for a plan that may likely never occur.
@questmarkers Жыл бұрын
I never thought about it that way, but I so, so appreciate you bringing that up. I think you’re right, it would’ve been impulsive for him to peacefully let go of a mission he’s been pursuing for ages simply because he saw Azem in us, and instead, he was almost looking for a reason to let go. For another Ascian to tell him that it’s okay to simply grieve the tragedy, instead of instigating more tragedies in order to make things “right” again. I always wondered why he couldn’t see the colour of our soul until that moment when Ardbert rejoins with us, but I agree with you that he knew all along. Wow. Going to need to sit with that one, thank you so much. (And thanks for the lore correction! I knew I wouldn’t get everything right.) Have a great day 😄

@@questmarkers There are these lines that you get when you unlock the extreme fight for Hades from the YoshiP self-insert character: cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1079784209138319381/1151228208063197184/FnArj79WQAEk6KW.png I think you're confusion for the Ardbert moment is warranted cause Emet does in the moment say "no it can't be". But the fact that Hythlodaeus shade MADE by Emet noticed our soul, and also the fact that he put all this faith in us tells me otherwise. I interpret a lot of Emet's actions after our confrontation with him Post-Mt.Gulg to be an insane self-contradictory cope. His deepest desires and hopes at full conflict with his (as he puts it) inviolate, invincible ideals, unable to buckle, but unable to press forward into that lonely darkness any longer. So he forces himself into these ideals shouting them at you over and over, almost like he's convincing himself, kicking and screaming, unable to let himself die as his paradoxical brain slowly but surely eggs itself onwards little by little, only for the image of his friend who had failed him to only shine greater then before, only fracturing his mind even more, unable to accept or understand or comprehend or who knows, the alternative they now present. Notice how he invites you after you failed his initial judgement of containing the light, only to say "go through my Amaurot dungeon this will be your judgement" only for us to succeed and for him to deny us, and then we go into our "final final judgement" (the third one now if you're keeping count). I love just how contradictory and conflicting and unhinged and how broken he is, it's so so so so sad. Btw have you read any of the side stories for FFXIV,? There's some really awesome ones that avail more about the incredible writing of ShB/EW.

‘Nostalgic’ is such an interesting way to describe this game, even though I personally played it pretty recently. Coming to it after playing various other entries in the series, the staples and motifs it establishes feel kind of pure in a way. That’s how I experienced it, I only played it in 2021 too after it came to switch.

YES, couldn't agree more! I'm glad I wasn't the only one. Similar to you, I've played many games in the series, and being able to see where they got the Zelda formula right (in ALTTP) was so cool, and somehow nostalgic.
