What’s with Lawn-Boy mowers can’t just have one. 😂

A balanced blade is the key to a clean cut, you could have a razor sharp blade but if the blade is not balanced you'll miss spots like crazy

I like the new OHV B&S engines. They don’t burn any oil and barely burn gas.

Had the ‘79 with 19” aluminum deck from my dad. Then bought a SilverPro Duraforce in 2003 and used it for 21 years. Just replaced it with an EGO. 👍🏻✌🏻

I've got respect for any ole flathead Briggs and Stratton, Ive worked on a ton of them over the years. I'm the guy who drags home about every mower I see sitting on the curb on garbage days... I fix them (or harvest them for parts) and sell them for a few bucks profit, or give them to family/friends/neighbors who need one. With that said I'll walk right past a pile of 10 or 15 Briggs powered mowers on any given day to mow my yard with one of my 2 stroke F series Lawn Boys, I own 3 of them.

I just got a 2024 ferris sw45 52" 28hp with a pro slide. " IT WILL GET IT DONE RIGHT NOW 😆 " I have strong hands and I do feel like it is not a good mower unless you got strong hands. Otherwise it is an incredible machine.

I love these old eager 1’s. Big tough beasts. They do NOT make mowers quite like this anymore and they haven’t fit a while now. Repair and cherish every old one you can. Awesome videos.

I prefer the 4 inch over the 2 inch. I think it has a more pleasant sound. Personal preference, both did the job.

I loved my 2 stroke. For mowing steep ditch banks the light weight deck and ability to operate on ditch bank made it a clear choice for me.

Awesome collection , I have 2 , both were given to me , my son got one of them running & we’ve mowed w/ it , what brand of oil do you use to mix w/ gas , I had some lawnboy oil but I was wondering if some other brand or brands would be ok to use ?

Very nice find for $40.00. Love the sound of the old Lawnboys. Assume you are running 16:1 gas/oil mix unless the engine was converted to a 2 ring piston and upgraded needle bearing conecting rod. Also you should only have to prime that mower 2 to 3 times. Any more and the primer assembly should be replaced. The primer has a very tiny seal which is a known fail point on that style vintage Lawnboys. I have loved the Lawnboys since using them as a teen some 50 years ago. I currently have 14 ranging from 1968 through 1982 and use 5 of them weekly mowing 7 lawns in the neighborhood.

J.T., good to see a young man like yourself starting out with a solid fleet and also appreciating older mowers that still work fine. I had my own operation (small, on the side) back in my 20s and sometimes wonder if I should have expanded the business. Whereabouts are you located? If you're looking to sell either of the 14SBs I would be interested, I am up in Indianapolis though. Be well.

I have some sears catalogs and sears lawn and garden catalogs and that mower looks to be a late 80s model like 1988 or 1989 those recoil starters back then had 2 styles pull lite and super pull lite and one pull start in like 1992 but with a red sticker label with white writing on the recoil in stead of the black sticker with the white writing on the recoil and the craftsman logo on the front of the engine i think came out in 1987 or 1988

I work in the field of landscaping, it seems like there's no work between the months of January to March as the grass is not growing, it isn't snowing, and the leaves are absent. I was thinking of learning to paint or trucking as a way to make money and pass the time while there isn't much work available. What do you do in those months for cash?

2 strokes are better because they can run faster safely, and the higher blade tip speed leaves a better cut. Horsepower as a measurement on small engines was stopped because it was so easy to make up numbers. Ive had 4 Horsepower to 6 Horsepower quantums, inside they are the same engine.
