Good stuff... organization helps with workflow! I separate out plugins, that I use, under Collections, so like instruments, Drums, FX, Comp&Filter, etc. I only use 1 Collection for favorite samples. The rest of the samples... as I get em, I just throw them in my already organized by categories folders. One thing, that I will mention, is that I no longer worry about so much sample cleanup as I tag everything in Live 12 now, so I let Live do the organizing. If I find something I really like and may use in the future, then I add it also to my Collection for samples. I really really wish Live would have added more collections, actually, as that is my go to and could have used 2 more under that section.

Ahhh File Management can be ball & chain. And then you have to worry about backups / cloud syncing. I have been a computer nerd / web design / graphic designer / videographer & photographer for decades (I'm Old) and have yet to find a full proof system. It soon gets messy unless you allocate time to tidy things up on a very regular basis. As soon as you start moving stuff, especially vendor files or default folders, it gets messy. Like your office fling cabinet or home kitchen cupboards .... where did I put that? What is it called? Shall I put it in this drawer / folder or that other one. I just accept it can be a nightmare unless you are a tidy freak. Either way, it steals time to read / look / hear your files. Good Luck.

I’d rather be a producer that actually produces the loops….and then use those loops….in the music that I produced….with one shots. So technically I’m only using one shots.

What I don't like with analog is unison and detune. When enabled the sound changes unpredictably each time Analog is triggered by a midi note. If you add an oscilloscope to the chain you will see the waveform phase and amplitude changes each time a new note is triggered. This occurs even when unison detune is set to 0.... Ableton's response is "Analog is designed to emulate the characteristics of vintage analog synthesizers, including the behavior of free-running oscillators. While we understand that consistent behavior is important for creating music, these variations are inherent to the analog modeling in Analog and are not indicative of a bug or issue with the software. In fact, this has been remarked by our users since Live 8.

Thanks Sam, that was great... just wondering if you happen to know how the Denoiser plug-in compares to Audacity for reducing the background hiss/etc. I find the noise reduction in Audacity pretty effective usually, but if this compares, that would be a little bit handier.

Hey Paul, Audacity can definitely do a great job as well. The benefit of the BL Denoiser is that it's a VST, meaning you can work with it right within your DAW. But if you've already mastered Audacity and you don't mind using an additional software program to clean up your audio, then by all means stick with it!

So far all of these plugins have native counterparts in FL Studio, and/or can be crafted quickly with the Layer channel and randomization. GrossBeat is a beast and can handle most of these fx on its own. I Wish was pretty nice. These are cool for folks who aren't well acquainted with the DAW or don't like to fiddle around though. 👍 Thanks for sharing ✌️✨
