I've been working this way for years now. Logic Pro has the Project Notes and Track Notes feature built in which I use extensively, any thought that comes into my head I just quickly type it in and continue working. Once I've complete a task I either delete it or mark it with a Strikethrough. The best part: I never have to leave the DAW 😀 Personally I find relying on a third party app anywhere during the creation process would automatically knock me out of the "flow" state. Everything is done inside of Logic itself, meaning that I don't use any third party sample management apps either.

Yeah! I got Ableton 8 years ago and it soon dawned on me that it lacked a decent way to provide Project Notes or Track Descriptions. So I just got into the habit of using a real notepad and pen at my desk. Why DAWs don't have a dedicated menu item for Project Notes is really dumb.

You can.... you probably know more than you think and already have a truck load of sounds built in to your DAW or VSTs. I am an old skool rocker but love dabbling with EDM and synth stuff know. Pick a track you like and try to recreate it from scratch or follow a KZbin tutorial.
