I have a question about the valve timing. At which valve clearance do I check or set the stock timing according to the valve timing circle diagram? I heard of 1mm or 0,4mm. Cause I have adjustable cam gears.

both of those measurements are way too big. I set them all to .010". In mm you'd want .2-.3mm

wow amazing bike but they have to do something to control costs. twins cup was supposed to be accessible, less than super sport but look at that thing. data logging on twins cup? how is a privateer supposed to compete when you can just out spend. leave that kind of racing for gp i want to see riders compete not check books.
@LWTRACER3 ай бұрын
Twins should be cheaper than supersport, no question about that. If you control the costs anymore then no bike can compete with the RS660. The more stock you get the more of an advantage the Aprilia has. I'm not sure what you mean by "how is a privateer supposed to compete". Robem Engineering is not a factory team. The owner Matt Spicer put his own time and money into figuring out everything with these bikes. This is privateer team. He spends his own money. Designs his own parts. Builds the engines. Di Mario is an insane talent and would have won on a much cheaper built RS660. A privateer team won the championship over M4 Suzuki and Vance & Hines.
@mikec11553 ай бұрын
Twins Cup has always been labeled as a builders class and the technical regulations are almost identical to when the class started in 2018. Data logging is allowed in Junior Cup. It's part of the expense of pro racing.
@ThaBootyBandit3 ай бұрын
The most expensive things on this bike is the suspension and the wheels. The rest is manageable(vary in price) or not really necessary. Motoamerica and most twins cup classes limit upgrades that are not holomligated from the factory. Which means no built motors&trans, no airbox modifcations. no carbon or titanium. The rules are pretty restrictive honestly.

@@LWTRACER unfortunately we will never know if he can actually ride or Mr money bags can write the bigger check, just look at that bike. i dont think you understand the word private in privateer. owner builder and rider is the same person. when i raced ama endurance back in the day we owned the bike we built the bike and we raced the bike and were competitive. what a time. and if moto America wants to go back to the glory days they gotta fix this. i see now that the concept is completely alien in modern road racing to the point that even the word privateer has lost its meaning. you can balance bikes outside of open spending. see how supersport balances bikes, or how gp got manufacturers to come back with the spec ecu.

Hi, I damaged the gen 1 engine and bought a used gen 2, installed it, unfortunately there is no spark on the plugs. After watching your video, I replaced the gear shift sensor and the neutral light came on, the engine tried to start, but the battery was too weak. The next day, when the battery was charged, it didn't even try to start and there was no spark on the plug :-( Maybe you have any idea what happened? PS. I also have one plug left, supposedly from the carburetor temperature sensor, and I don't know where to plug it in or whether it should be plugged in at all because I don't remember.
@LWTRACER6 ай бұрын
So it's a 1st gen SV with a 2nd gen motor? There is no Carb Temp Sensor. Is the plug coming from the carb? It's probably TPS then and doesn't need plugged in on 1st gens for them to run. Are you using the 1st gen Stator? Double check all your connections.

@LWTRACER6 ай бұрын
If you're buying a bike, go for one that's already track prepped. It's cheaper to buy one prepped however, if you do it yourself you can slowly do upgrades as needed when you improve. But since you need to buy a bike, it doesnt make sense to buy a street bike and track prep it.
