My Scottish mother used to make shortbread every Christmas. With her recipe she would mix the dough by hand in an earthen bowl. Here friend tried to use a mixer but it burned the motor out.

have the recipe at home in Germany, the Scottish author Rosamunde Pilcher had published it in one of her books 😁 We have stayed with the same landlady in Drumnadrochit a few times and were served shortbread fingers with tea 😋

Not where I live. I don't even go outside because it's so horrible. But that's because I live in an awful awful town. I'd do anything to be in the countryside.

Those stags damage everything they touch, the land included. The stalkers can't keep up with the population growth. They are the main reservoir for Lyme disease and drop their infected ticks all over the place including my garden. Bring back wolves. The midges are a bit irritating but help keep the Highlands wild by scaring away tourists.
