i'm 35 and at the time i hated this kind of stuff. couldn't understand why the hell my grnadparents could ever like music or shows from this era. now keep in mind this was when i was a small kid to teen era. now as i got older as an adult i find, especially as i lose more and more of my grandparents (lost 2 so far and likely a third by the end of this year), i find myself watching, appreciating, and wishing that these types of things came back. things that, even if they DID throw in some sort of political BS, it was done in a tactful, smart, and witty way. i truly do miss these days. there is almost nothing of my childhood i would wish to bring back and relive, but this is an exception.

From the heart and soul. What I admire most is the authenticity. Just a block of wood with some strings and a voice. Nothing else.

Kitty Wells was my mother's favorite country western star. She had her records and albums and would play them as she ironed her clothes with a cigarette dangling from her mouth singing in between puffs and chugging shots of Beam and downing cans of Hamm's Beer. It was a great show when I was a kid and I still love the music and the memories of Kitty Wells.

Did you know "Shutters and Boards" released in 1962 by Jerry Wallace was co- written by Audie Murphy? Love everything Jerry Wallace ever released.
