I'm 6 months late but last night I started a run as a hyper-tall megacorp (single system challenge). By the start of the midgame, my only competition in terms of science was my next door neighbour, a giant gestalt consciousness that had eaten all my allies - but not me, because I'm too weak and scrawny and tiny to bother consuming :) Every other empire has a 1k victory point difference in terms of science score. It's not even a big difference between me and my neighbour, about a 100 difference in total that's quickly shrinking.

This is for what, solo human play? None of this works for multi player synths for example.

When Megacorp launched I would specifically join full multiplayer lobbies just to rush xenocompatability and nuke the game

Maybe try starting as a non mega corp and then reform early into one to prevent the ai generation from spawning more mega corps to match you.

Xeno compatability? Yuck. Real chads use robots only

man i had a nexus storm hit my capital and surrounding colonies and raised several to 100% devistation then my first colony kept getting hit by back to back storms for like, 50 years and stayed above 90% devistation.. it sucked

I have a storyline going where my stormchaser (the vanilla one) captured the center of galaxy and befriended zadrigal. For their service, Zadriga controls the world in the center of the galaxy, Zadrigal has gone through suffering but now zadrigal spends their time riding cosmic storms with another leader who is actually the chosen one of the composer of strands. Eventually Cetana attacked the galaxy, and The chosen one sacrificed himself to redeem Cetana, so now that ship was gifted to Zadrigal and they just surf cosmic storms in the middle of the galaxy in safety :)

turning up storms has been so much fun :) i love this dlc. this and astral planes makes me do things other than move fleets around in the midgame

jep, first stellaris game with new dlc: got hit with a nexus storm at year 10 too. it ravaged half my empire for the next 10 years, after it finally went away and i reloaded a save 5 times to figure out how to prevent a rebellion. the neighboring grand admiral militaristic xenophobes thought that was a great time to invade me... they where right... to bad for them the xenophiles on my other side had just decided to take pitty on me and guarantee my independence. with no fleet to speak of, i stacked my homeplanet with armies to stall the xenophobes and watched the xenophiles take all the systems i had claimed at the start of the war and win the war for me, granting me another 6 systems and a planet from the xenophobes. ;)

I got a multiplayer game going on and I've been Tornado Alley the whole game. Im a storm chasing criminal megacorp and i have like 4 science ships casting Storm on a loop. My plan was to export them but instead i just attract every storm across the galaxy because I'm the only source of attraction in the galaxy. Everyone hates me and we saved as i was conjuring the hig one. I can't wait to unleash that on them

Ships armed with nothing but nuclear missiles bombarding a planet 💀 They should make a mechanic where if a planet is being bombarded by at least 1 ship with nuclear missiles and gets to like 75% devastation or something it becomes a tomb world

I recommend doing this origin with modded (or make the mod yourself) subspace drives that have 0.000001% hyperdrive speed. That way your ships do tactical jumps and you can build gateways going around the galaxy, I love roleplaying as a corporation that does this and also controls the L cluster, roleplaying as being in control of galactic trade because gateways > hyperlanes

Similar to Astral Planes, its main feature is more of a gimmick, the actual storm chasers are not even remotely benefitting enough from storms, while for everyone else the storms are annoyances and random planet devestation at best, the patch reworking thrall worlds and the civic that rewards you for having no blockers look more interesting than anything related to the storms, got it as a part of the season pass, and really, i wouldnt have bought it otherwise I mean, where are abilities like riding the literal storm as a sort of improvised jump drive, or at least speed bonuses as a storm chaser Also also, ships behave weirdly, where they want to literally avoid storms and rather take the long way around, which when i noticed it almost cost me a war and thus a pretty awesome playthrough at that point

Crazy you even need to get corvettes. I like it. Kinda wish you could just have an origin where you start like this without force spawning advanced. I wanna do a MP game where we have this primitive start and have to research even starting stuff like vettes.

finally got some dlc 2 weeks ago and this happened just the other day… took me a year to mobilize across the galaxy to fight him then his fleets fell like paper mache… everyone had opened borders to me knowing what i was up to, then as soon as the khan died i returned to my corner of the galaxy, banned once again by the entire galactic community

Started a multiplayer save with a friend. Within 10 years a nexus storm spawned close to my empire. Within another 10 years my homeworld got to max devastation. Not cool.

Ngl this feels like a mod. It’s a cool unique play style that’s fun the first like three times but then just gets annoying. If you’re not specifically playing as a storm based empire idk if it’s even worth turning the dlc on. Will not be picking up unless a massive sale

do you perhaps have any videos where you aren't talking in fast forward? It is so hard to keep up with you because you rush. Does anyone have suggestions for videos where they aren't in a hurry? I like the game but suck at it and would like to be able to follow along with out having to stop and rewind 40 times in the first 5 minutes.
