The more I read comments about Gene Roddenberry liked and disliked, the more I realized that Star Trek turned out great not BECAUSE of him, but DESPITE him. Some highlights of his baffling stupidity "Humans don't mourn the dead." How the fuck did he see that as a human failing? That's just heartless. "No conflicts." That makes it boring and incredibly unrealistic. "Starfleet isn't a Military!" Once again with the Unrealistic. NO ONE is going to believe a nation doesn't have some type of defense system. A military is a NECESSITY for security. Now it makes more sense why the Federation are seen constantly being blindsided by Romulans and constantly unprepared for war. Roddenberry was a deluded, heartless optimistic Pacifist that didn't care about making a GOOD show.

ShoeLights... 555-SHOE... Al Bundy STILL doesn't try nearly as many get-rich-quick schemes as Ralph Kramden or Fred Flintstone...!

Love this movie! I have a VHS copy that I still watch. It’s only available through streaming by renting or purchasing it, but hopefully it’ll become available again through Amazon, Netflix or another service. It’s so funny and well written! 💖

Look for the human vers of this in Baron Munchausen by Gilliam.

In terms of gruesome Star Trek TNG scenes - the only other one I know is of "spider-barclay" in the episode where everyone is 'de-evolving'.

Ugh. "We seek peaceful co-existence." Spoken in a completely hostile tone, along with literally *displaying* behavior that would be disturbing to anyone. Why in the hell did ST always have to break out the crayons?

It's too bad they never followed this up in the rest of the series run or in other Trek Series like DS9 or VOY. They kind of left a major plot hole open and unresolved, but I guess when they created The Borg as the new threat the whole Space Parasite arc was abandoned.

Saw this on TV when it first aired, before TV shows had ratings. They blew him apart and I just sat there in disbelief. The worm eating scene was messed up too!

... I live in Germany... and I can not recall from my childhood anything beyond the head exploding. That "Queen" was not shown or I have subconsciously forgot about that! Anyone here who could recall that scene on the German version back then? Because I am darn certain that it would have been cut out!
