What an uninspired piece by Chopin. Guess he was very bored or not well when he composed it. (Sorry i guess it is just me).

This is possibly the most impressive and magisterial performance of this piece I’ve ever heard. Such a natural flow, simplicity and attention to details. The music becomes a living organism.

Impeccable performance! The tempo, finger dancing effortlessly on the key board, the subtle delay at proper times. Just perfect! I have even listening to this dozens of times and still marvel at his playing.

Piękny mężczyzna gra piękną muzykę, a to potęguje wrażenie. Przy innych pianistach najczęściej zamykam oczy.

Three years after the concert he now works as a paediatrician and gives occasional concerts. I will never forget his beautiful tone and witty talk at a charity concert just before he became a doctor. I would like to visit the Tokai region one day to hear him perform again.

I have heard so many famous artists do this sonata, and just assumed it was one of the less exciting pieces from Chopin. This performance gives the piece life! Amazing interpretation.

That piano has a resonance all its own. Liu's dynamics control is really amazing too. This is way better than most versions I've heard of this piece.

Someone wrote on the chat that they found that Olga "didn't know Chopin's sound"... I can't agree or disagree because I cannot figure out what that possibly means (once we exclude some spooky communication with Chopin's ghost himself). Were it a question of phrasing, of balance between hands, of general conception of some of the pieces or of all of them etc., OK. I might agree on some point, disagree on another or on all counts and we could have a discussion. But "sound"? How could we possibly know what Chopin sounded like (apart from the fact that he hated big halls and loud playing... which doesn't help us much. Does anyone has an idea about that ? Now, as for Olga's concert, I just loved it.

The audience so wanted to applaud at the end! I love that weird and wonderful final movement. It sounds like Chopin doing some free impro. A masterpiece of a Romantic sonata.
