IDK what camera you were using at the time, but the focus is all over the place. I traded my Z5 for the Z6 ii. The auto focus was better. But then gave up the Z6ii for the Zf. It's a classic, and a perfect fit for me.

Personally I’ve been hating seeing all these people say that instead of getting the z76/7ii, they got the z8 because the price was right there… not like it’s about $2,000 more. That’s not just a simple jump or, “Well I was gonna spend $1,900, but decided to go with the $4,000 camera because it was close”…

Some people still don't realize that the Z8 is a complete body, a true successor to the D850. Those who owns the Z8 will tell you that. It will serve its owner forever. Also, who knows what future firmware updates Nikon will incorporate to the Z8 down the road? perhaps more RED features, which I'm expecting to see. Honestly, all mirrorless bodies across brands are good. We, the consumer are spolied for choice as we know can choose which body fits our budget? Also, lenses too are now more diversified then ever. Nowdays, 3rd party lenses have caught up in terms of quality. The only deficit is us ourselves. Are we knowledgeable enough to master the features in the camera we hold. Great video bro

I made the mistake of getting a Z6iii to partner my Z8. They don't work remotely the same control wise so muscle memory doesn't work and I can't control the focus even closely as easily as the Z8. I just wish they didn't cripple the controls compared to the Z8. Give us "Recall Shooting Functions" and "Cycle AF-area mode".

The Z8 is my backup to the Z9. I'm more likely to take the Z8 for a trip over the Z9 and oddly I miss not using the Z9 when I use the Z8. Cannot explain it but that is the way it goes for me. I intend to keep these cameras for a long time. The cameras deliver what I need, and I am on the decline of having any reason to keep up with the latest camera tech anymore. I hope that I'm using the Z9 like I see people still using the D3 (a 17 year old camera).

Right now im looking a video camera with good processor, tracking, and no video record time limit. The missed IBIS was a hard hit but adding a gimbal stabilizer would fix all that. 31 presets and video nlog + preset built in is great. I thought about alot and decided to pre order it. I was going to buy a DJI action 5 for video but the nikon Z50ii will be a much better ally....

The size already increased to almost Z6 level, so there was barely anything to lose anymore. Another reason for increased size is the new forward position of the EVF as they had to raise the EVF to clear the lens mount.
