I am a roofer in Houston, all insurance claims or 99.999,% will be denied ! Due to hurricanes and heavy storms every after year. Most homeowners can’t handle the truth about insurance claims! And most people don’t have money saved up to cover there deductible…

What would you say about a group of guys starting a storm restoration company, where each person takes a role of sales manager, supplementing manager, ca signer, repair technician, etc. but to start every employee or part owner of the company is focused on bringing in sales and revenue but also doing the role they are assigned to. Hopefully this made enough sense lol.

I had to put up a no soliciting sign on front of my home, because I moved into a newly developed community. All of the new homes have warranties, so it’s a lot of sales persons who misrepresent themselves as being part of companies that offer the warranty.

Roofs are like tires; they have a wear life. Roof lifespan typically is 30 years. If your roof only lasts 15 years then you have 15 years of loss depreciation. That is not normal wear and tear. What caused the roof water shedding system to not meet the expected lifespan? The insurance adjuster needs to provide a replacement solution.

This is refreshing to hear from a vendor. We work from home and more often than not are on conference calls or tasks requiring our undivided attention. It's difficult to juggle when our dogs are reacting to a doorbell. I'm fine with someone leaving a note or a door hanger, especially if they acknowledge that we have the sign.

I’ll give this a try. I’ve gone through your sales program twice. I sell retail. Haven’t found much success at all after your program. I feel like I’m over presenting and sharing so much valuable info to the homeowner. I spend on average 1-1.5 hours with the customer and then they go with someone else after I’ve educated them so much . What are your thoughts on this ?
@TheRoofStrategist
@TheRoofStrategist 2 күн бұрын
Hey dude! Happy to help. First lets identify what's going on, then provide the path to fixing it. I'm guessing this may be an "opening" or "closing" problem. Because many people are great at presenting (and it sounds like you may be one of those people), but they struggle with what I call the "Book End." That is the opening and closing. So without the proper discovery questions up front, you end up force-feeding the homeowner a word-vomiting sales experience. And without a strong close (and especially the ability to overcome the specific objections that come up at the end of an appointment such as "we have to think about it," "we're going to get more estimates," or "you're too expensive" then you leave the house with no deal. How do we fix that? I can't tell by your username - are you a Member of RSRA? If so, let's connect inside and work on this during our next Sales Support Q&A Session that's coming up. We will break it down together. I can also send you links to past session recordings we did on the Psychology of Closing, my Closing Masterclass, Making the Money Make Sense, and how to master your "Open" so you can close more. If you're not an RSRA Member, next time you log into the training center, click "FREE TRAINING CENTER" and go through these 2 programs: 10 Closing Techniques for Every Situation and Close More by Opening Better. You can also get in for FREE at theroofstrategist.com/free-training-center I'll be rooting for you!

@@TheRoofStrategist hey, thanks for getting back to me . I’m not sure what RSRA is but I purchased your roof sales program last year . I feel like I’m doing exactly what you’re saying . I’m feeding the home owner word vomit. Not sure exactly where I’m going wrong. I start the interaction off exactly like you’re recommending. Connecting on a human level, Not jumping straight into the sale , asking questions to find out why they called ( I already know why they called before I arrive, however I still ask again once I’m there) . When it comes to the qualifying stage where I’m asking questions, I feel like I don’t spend much time at all in this section…. “So what seems to be going on here? “ - I have a leak and I think my roof needs to be changed soon I’ll ask them to point me out to an area they’re having a leak. I’ll ask how long it’s been happening for, etc etc. we chat . But the conversation doesn’t really seem to be anything special. I ask their permission to board their roof, I do an inspection for them . Even I’ll find the leak . I have a few years of install experience and many years of sales experience in other industries. After I find the leak I’ll ask the customer if there’s a spot out of the sun we can sit down and show the pictures I took for them. I show how the leak was caused and how my company does a whole roofing system , underlayment, ice and water, replacing metals etc. I’ll chat with them about all of this . the customers always seem so intrigued . I do my best to educate to their needs . They love it. They always seem like they’re going to choose my to sign up with but then after the quotes given, time and time goes by, nothing. Follow ups happen and they tell me they choose other contractors. Not sure why this keeps happening. I do my best to educate and sell to their needs .. Then I compare myself to some of the season vets and they’ll talk to a customer for 15 mins and the sales closed right then and there. They say a fraction of what I say. Am I just getting unlucky with the clients? Maybe because I’m young looking, folks don’t trust me to do their roof? They love my education session and then they go with the next guy lol. Sorry for all the spam, I’d love to continue this conversation via email so we can track the progress together?

I too experienced the same results on nearly 90% of clients I would spend the most time and attention with. Connecting, going over every detail and asking every question suggested in the program. Some I did struggle with keeping their attention, sometimes ghosted afterwards. Others appreciated the information and were very engaged but used a different contractor even after 8-10 touches. To keep food on the table I did greatly shorten my presentation and even the greeting, straight into discovery and solution without really first connecting. I have been that 2nd & 3rd guy coming in and closing insurance on the spot recently, and signed with more upgrades and on retail replacements recently as well. Some people just want a solution and competent contractor to handle the rest. Not a PowerPoint and sit with you going line by line on the type of nail you're using... Others want to know every detail of the solution. It seems like it would work great for many people but I just have not gained traction doing it that way. Several clients have even thanked or complemented for lingering or overwhelming them comparing previous experiences or prior appointments with other roofers. I thought I was alone and maybe doing something wrong until I discovered some of our other guys applying the program are not performing as well as they could. Granted I've barely out performed them all the last 4 months, but they all have prior sales experience.. whereas I have always been a laborer or in manufacturing. Never been the social butterfly or funny or most knowledgeable. I'll definitely be restarting the program, would absolutely love a $700+k month. I certainly have plenty I could change and improve on.

Project mgr or salesman on every job. Trust,but,verify. If you're lucky enough to have a good crew that does good work without being hawked and materials don't disappear PAY them extra. Implement a bonus or QC program if you have to,but,at the end of the day if someone is there you don't get simple,costly mistakes like forgetting $100 weather shield around pipe jacks and the roof can't get a certificate.r

Hey Adam, I’m 21 almost 22 and I’ve been a tobacco salesman for the past year, but I met a great guy who works for a great roofing company and long story short I’m going to make that switch. I’ve been really nervous as I’ve never been commission only before but I’ve been listening to your videos during my drives and they’ve really helped educate and prepare me for this. Thank you for putting all these resources out there to help new people and experienced people as well. Any extra advice for someone who’s just getting into this? P.S nice muscle up

Hey my dude. This industry can be life changing, but so many people don't make it (2/3 quit or get fired in their first year). My best advice is to invest in your education, learn as much as you can, and DO ROLE PLAY! Prepare yourself for real world scenarios in role play, even if you're alone, and everything you face in the real world will be easy. I also recommend: - Reading my Book to prepare for the mental and emotional battlefield) (coming soon to my FREE Training Center - or you can get a copy on Amazon/Audible www.amazon.com/Roofing-Sales-Survival-Guide-Overcome/dp/B0CK3ZX91K - Watching my "New in Roofing Sales? Start Here!" playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLZ20p_mXvgkWwKmPlotIml7-DbrhbbH8b - Surrounding yourself with the top earners and absorb as much as you can I'll be rooting for you!

Insurance is the biggest scam on the planet. I have never had a good experience dealing with any insurance company regardless of the coverage. The only thing I feel insured about is the fact that I'm going to get screwed if and when I have to file a claim. Insurance companies only care about their bottom line
