I liked the second guitar better, I would have to compare it with an American Fender with a maple neck.

I added bulkier strings and I think it’s causing the bridge to pull up as I tune. I have 2 springs but wondering if I should add a 3rd. I dont like the idea of messing with those screws. It seems like they could ware out after a few times of messing with them?

Why can't you just install new pickup wires to old pickup wires under pickups?

Pickup bobbins are made of hair thin copper wire, you don't want to mess with that

I appreciate your thorough explanation and time you took into this video! I knew how to restring my FR guitar. I didn't know about saddle readjustment and nut adjustment. THANK YOU!

I've watched many tutorials for setting up a guitar, and still, they left me having to figure out myself how to best approach the intonation adjustments on my Charvel Gotoh bridge. This tutorial is by far the clearest, with the proper camera perspectives, and it is also the shortest! I wish I had seen it sooner!

How many times can you tighten those neck screws and the spring screws before there in all the way? Then what?

10:08 I made my tremolo system float but now each string goes to a different pitch and its a pain in the butt to deal with!!
@robertmorga25819 күн бұрын
Floyd Rose sucks! You go through all that crap and strings pop out, won't stay in tune anyhow! And when locked at nut, your unable to tune manually. Out of all the tremolos, the Stratocaster is recommended.

First off the riffage was awesome, but these youngsters it seems have never heard this song played by Jimi Hendrix😂, Anyway very impressed by the SX, looking at one for $300, and it's a Hard Tail Strat. Never seen one of those before. Lol😃😳🤯

I saw this a few years ago, thought about doing it, but I've had the pedal for almost two decades and couldn't bring myself to do it. However, today I stumbled across your video and did it. The sounds is dramatically different and a lot more usable for me now. Maybe in a few years I'll do the conversion that makes it switchable. Thanks for taking the time to make this!

A big advantage when compared to Floyd Rose and similar systems...Replacing Strings or even one only string. You need tools to cut the ball end of the string, to losen the locking nut, to tighten the bridge saddle, not easy at all compared to this

Hello I have just a few questions about my Jackson/Floyd Rose setup. A few things to keep in mind is that my string gage is custom 8.11.15.26.36.46, and I prefer stainless or cobalt over nickel, which are tuned to Eb. I have always pitched my tremolo at about 2 or 3 degrees forward not level because it just feels like my picking hand is in the right place and because I get that little bit extra pull back that I need. Having said that, I am wondering if the tremolo can be truly intonated with this setup. I do have only one issue with this is that when I harmonically tap the high E string I can get it to ring true and clear. Now the saddle is at its max position against the set screw and im thinking that if I could shave off a 32nd or so more from the saddle block I could get it perfect. Keep in mid my tuning specs and bridge leveling which I dont want to change. Any insight on this would be appreciated thankyou.

8:30 - If you try to lower the pivot and it feel like its already the lowest, check if there is a stud locking system. Lots of gotoh and ibanez bridges have a little screw inside the stud, that you can use to lock the stud heigth after adjusting it.. in this case you need to release this small lock before and then adjust the height as you wish.. I learned it from the worst possible way some years ago 🤡

There are millions of people who are trying to play Barr chords with guitars that have never been setup properly. Sanding the bridge down is so simple and the result is the ability to Barr up and down the fretboard easily. I don’t understand why the majority of guitars are not setup properly out of the factory, ie the bridges being made so that the guitar can be played easily up and down the neck. The bridges being manufactured too high makes people give up on playing Barr chords or even worse giving up playing guitar. If anyone knows why these bridges continue to be made too high, I would love to know.

Nice video. An actual automotive feeler gauge tool would help be more accurate with the neck relief measurement.
@Tonewoodskeptic26 күн бұрын
This is actually a scientific test, tonewood or materials used to make a guitar will affect tone due to this uncontrollable stuffs (microphonic), Its like a one ingredient for a food you may like or hate it, and yes, some plastic guitar,plywood can sounds good sometime ,its also debatable whether you care about it or not or you use noisegate but I always love the tone I hear from Alder/ rosewood guitar , even if new tonewood wokeness happens, i still hear the different tone from different wood combination, we can believe or not to believe in this stuff , this tonewood thing will come to my mind only when I want to buy a new guitar or change pickups and it doesnt mean I care about it more than playing, Im just a regular guitar geek and loves playing guitar.
