Well done - great project and one of the only 3D printed projects for guitar that I'd be glad to own!

Thanks! And this is the just first prototype, the next versions will look much better and also be a lot stronger than this one. Glad you liked it!

Very cool. great idea and great construction. I for one am interested if you decide to produce a few to sell. Have you thought of adding a volume pedal re-purposed to control the rotation speed? so that you can control it hands-free
@InspiringTracks Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your interest! The idea is to make at least a small batch to see how much demand are for it. For speed switching I'm planning to use a two button footswitch to alternate between two user adjustable speeds or stop the rotor completely. Ideally it will be compatible with regular guitar amp footswitches so you don't have to purchase another one if you have one lying around. This is the first and somewhat crude MKI prototype, the MKII is around the corner so check the channel regularly for future updates!

The only thing I'd add in the next version is a foot pedal jack to switch it on and of, and possibly a volume-type pedal to adjust the rate. That would allow you to keep your hands on the guitar.

Thanks for your feedback, and yes, absolutely! This is totally on the plans. I need to see the best way to implement it

Great work! On both the speaker and the guitar! I think the fast speed sounds a little too fast. But I admit I don't know the proper Leslie speeds so take that with a grain of salt. Also, how quiet is the unit itself? It needs to be virtually silent at any speed or its usability goes down pretty fast. Finally, can you tell me more about your amplifier and IR setup? Maybe I missed the details (?) Sounds great, I want one!
@InspiringTracks Жыл бұрын
Thanks! The speed is fully adjustable so you can set it to taste. The MKII will incorporate the ability to preset a slow and fast speeds and switch between them. And the unit is pretty silent, at low speeds it's virtually inaudible and only can be heard if you set it high but even then I think the hum of the single coils is louder thant that. As soon as you play a note, even at low volume the noise is completely masked. In the future I'll release more videos with pedals and amp setup ideas and use cases so you'll have a good idea of how this works. Thanks a lot for your interest!

Once you get this thing perfected you should sell the files so we can build our own and you will be able to make a ton of money that way because it's a great sound
@InspiringTracks Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm still considering all posibilities, maybe I'll build and sell the finished product, maybe the files, maybe both. It still needs a lot of polishing so I have some time to think about it. Cheers!

Must have been very satisfying when you changed the pulleys 🙂 Sound test Pink Floyd sections were so deliciously close to the vibe of my fave tracks from my teens (in the 1970s :-P ). Excellent result from all that work you put into this. Bravo!

Absolutely, that's the exact moment I knew this thing gonna work! And glad you liked the Floyd jam, David Gilmour must have the most amazing rotary sounds of all time!
